Serato DJ now supports some Traktor controllers 🤯
Basically the title.
Wild to see this happen right after TP4 dropped. Hoping it doesn't mean anything more than a way to get more $ for Traktor development.

you have to pay for fx customization on serato so big no for me

Both controllers have been part of the VDJ and djay Pro universes for a while now. Since the DDJ-200 and DDJ-400 were also added to Serato's portfolio at the same time, I don't see any reason to worry too much about something bigger being on the way.

Serato doesn't please me at all, but Traktor could be more compatible with the top Pioneers... xdj rr, xdj rx2 and xdj rx3 open more plug in play... playanywhere.

This really is good news and it will hopefully kickstart cross platform HW/SW compatibility.

it's a shame really. I was excited at first when trying it because it felt so much more fluid on my i5 than rekordbox (FLX4 is hardware unlock for those softwares)
I still have to buy the traktor mapping for the flx4 to try it.

Give it a chance to map the controller all by yourself. It is not that hard.

i find the mapper easy to use but hard to master. My mappings are horrible and i even haven't got into modifiers/conditionals.

im actually interested to see how the latancy on the platter of the S2Mk3 is on serato as compared to Traktor. may test it this weekend since i own both the S2 and S4

The industry has to stop this madness of "hardware X cannot work with software Y because it was initially made for Z".
In general its all the same now.

Yeah, well just think about what you have to pay for with Traktor. Or the times you've had to pay for an upgrade of Traktor just to get quality of life improvements that other developers just add as they go FOR FREE.
