How access my libraries on Windows 7 ?

I did what you wrote. Unfortunately in every case every time "No compatible update found. Download failed. Please check…" And milliseconds - hard to see - before the error message "Searching for the latest update."
Hope you have better insights.
Thanks again!

How old is lunaris 1.5 now???? what's it's minimum spec and what was it originally installed with?
I do grow tired of these lame excuses, "latest is the greatest" windows fanboy nonsense. This is why lunaris 1.5 is working on other people systems running kontakt 6.6.1 on windows 7… :-/
Anyway, it must be nice to be able to accept the loss of hundreds of $'s in VST's and the amount of time and work spent on them, should they be incompatible with newer OS's, and then be able to upgrade hardware at the drop of a hat to run the newest version of the installer, just to install a vst that predates the installer by several years itself. A form of gate keeping?
Add to that spending $3000 (software upgrades not included in that figure) on a new PC just to install spyware OS to install a newer installer must be nice to do as well.
I know what's going I have accepted that. In the same line of thinking
as someone who previously commented, there's no need for the heavy handed approach.
A person should be allowed to purchase a previous and "outdated" product if they want to. As long as they
realise and accept there is no support for that product because of it's perceived vintage.
Most people are savvy enough to provide there own support to fix an issue, should it arise.
I think I'll spend the money on korgs wavestate instead, and Gforce, they work on windows 7,
I'm sure wavestate with it's steeper learning curve can do the same thing as lunaris.

Many vst companies are still with win7 and many of the vsts that are minimum win8 or win10 work fine on my win7. I understand technolohy progresses, but the use of expensive libraries, the access to my property cannot be cut off by an access software that simply can be updated. That is legally impossible.

I will post and post.
good on you for sticking with it. Ive just mentioned in another thread and will do so here as well, that in the Dev talks that have come onto the forum from time to time, it came up about activating software we've purchased which is no longer supported. Many of us pointed out the necessity of NI to come to the party and do the right thing and get a way for people to at least activate their products. Not asking for support for old computers or old OSes but the ability to activate or get our products. They said they are looking into this, so we can take heart at least with that, but we all need to keep mentioning it and hopefully something comes up and soon. It's certainly high time.
Apart from the few who think money grows on trees I can see a lot of people getting pretty upset about this issue feeling ripped off if their systems are working OK but they just need to re-activate a product which can legitimately happen for a number of reasons.

Try this:

That nails it! Come on NI!

@PatrickW
Thanks for the link! It looks a bit complicated for me. But good to have that last bullit if all fails. As Jojo123 wrote, there seems to be a little hope, that NI recognises whats going on.

And everybody interested should write to the companies for support, that made you believe their kontakt libraries would run on kontakt 6.6.1 or lower not mentioning that native access issue.

At least you have solution now. Complicated or not - this should get you going.
And I appreciate the way that thread clearly lays out the exact reason why this is way out of NIs hands: (and a prime reason why Windows 7 is not supported in any way):
"The root cause for Windows 7 NA installs failing is that there are no security protocols the Win 7 system and NI servers can agree on. NI allows a set of 3 TLSv1.2 options none of which are supported by Windows 7's schannel.dll library so the connection fails immediately. This is after the security update that gets you the newer version of schannel.dll. Doesn't help."
NI is not going to compromise their worldwide server infrastructure here in 2024 by allowing deprecated TLS protocols to potentially create a massive security breach.
That is just common sense for any business in this ransomware filled world we exist in.

It explains why NA1 has stopped to work on W7, recently…
It does not explain why NI has stopped to support offline authorisation of Service Center. There would be absolutely no security risk.
It would cost something to make it compatible with new licence servers, but how much work would it be? A week? Take a sent file, "decipher" (it must be already coded), check against licence database (new work), create file for Service Center (it must be already coded) and send it back.

Had no idea that SC ever allowed "offline" anything. If it did - cool.
But SC was eons ago and there is most likely some other obscure technical reason for that as well.
I still do not think that the current owners of NI have any issue with spending money or doing the work - I believe this is more due with erasing technical debt and focusing their time, talent and budgets on things that actually matter.

Yes SC allowed offline authorisation. No internet connection needed.
The thing is that one may need to open old projects, or simply needs old OS to be able to run all plugins/DAWs needed.
I also have to use WinXP to be able to run very old version of MS Visual studio. If suddenly customer comes and asks for small change in legacy SW that I have developed decades ago for them (or for company in between). It happens here an there. 30+ years old code is still used…

That is an extreme edge case (and a fantasy) that I guarantee you - no vendor (including Microsoft) cares about in any way.
It is on all of us to ensure (by whatever means) to archive and render out every track of every project regardless of year or tech or whatever - if we need to open it in the future.
I can tell you that I will not be calling out Presonus in 2031 if I suddenly decide to open something I recorded in 2015 in Studio One v3.
If this project is really that important to me - I will render out to a format I know I can work with in the future.
But I have no illusions or future expectations that any vendor is going to be there to help me or that any software available now - will be available then. Because it will not.

It's not and extreme edge case, nor is it a fantasy. In my opinion, myopic to think so. You can disagree
with my thoughts all you like, i have no issue if you do.
There are a lot of people out in the world still using and maintaining systems running windows XP to support various legacy projects or hardware/software. Heaven forbid the idea should a person still run win98sp3 for scsi support. They do so knowing that there is no OS support etc ad infinitum. with out those legacy OS's and pcs still running, more hardware eg classic hardware synths from the 80's and 90's for example end up in landfill. We will own it, and we will be happy :-)0 -

Oh my, there you go again playing the condescending role with your pendulum swinging terminolgy. You are forever using words of emphasis to downplay things YOU don't see as a problem, and you think everyone should abide by the way you do things and if we dont then we are in fantasy land.. You're also giving more impetus for NI to ignore what many of us see as a fair and right thing to do.
People have bought their products. Those products may be very favourable to them in the long term. Example, just like some sounds never die, the means to produce them doesn't die either. In such cases legitmitate owners have every right to use their perpetual licenses they paid for if they have the medium that works to facilitate that. It is VERY simple, if other companies can do it ….Let us have our installers and a way to activate them offline if needbe.
It does ACTUALLY matter, and not as you put it "edge cases". You might want to drop the continual prognosticating as well telling us all how its going to be and to basically just roll over and accept it.
