Traktor 4: Mac users are second class clients.

it's just wild to me that people are using 10+ year old computers anymore anyway though… Especially Macs - like, how is that thing even alive anymore?

The build quality back in the days was good enough? Maintenance? No money for overpriced new things? Afraid that a drunk guest will pour his beer over my 4000 bucks machine when one for 400 bucks can do the job?
This isn't directed at you personally, but there are several good reasons why we shouldn't always replace functioning devices just because something newer is available. Save resources and breathe new life into used items is a good thing for me.

And not only using, but demanding from other developers to support the old as world OS!!! And God forbid to blame Apple for spitting into their customers faces with an OS support. No, no, no!!! This is NI, Ableton or any other company is failing to give me a software or hardware support for my 10 years old OS.

I agree, I had the same thing when I purchased the X1 Mk3 and needing to install the new version of native access to register it, also again in the past when my Audio 1 audio interface became unsupported by NI and Apple.
I had a 2012 macbook pro running Catalina and the sales person at the shop didn't mention or didn't even know that it would not work! I also upgraded to Osx 13 ventura using OpenCore Legacy Patcher, and watching a few YouTube videos, but experienced latency with certain things and eventually folded and bought a new M3 macBook
If you do decide to go that route, do some more research, in the end I ended up purchasing a new MacBook Pro as I figured it was time, with the rollout of all the new Apple products coming out and I'm also a user of Logic Pro so I needed a Mac to run the their new features for the most recent upgrade.
I am still hesitant to upgrade to Traktor Pro 4 as I feel the stems and other features are not geared for my style of DJing so far and the Stems in not a big seller for me, TP3 is all I need atm using the X1mk3.
Paying developers to make updates for older versions versus pushing new product would be nice, but not the best business model for profit I guess. And Apple seems to not give to much of a care for Dj's or Musicians needs as much. With all the changes in the DJ market and audio software I'm glad to see Tracktor still in the game, I've been a user since the beginning, but RekordBox is starting to look more and more appealing as an potential alternative.

I'm not sure where this discussion is going other than some people not believing a ten-year old MacBook Pro can run some of today's applications. I am an apple fanboy and I make no apology for that. I came to terms with their planned obsolescence many moons ago. My only teensy tiny gripe is that djay Pro "Requires macOS 10.15 or later" and I can hook up my 2014 MacBook Pro to my S2Mk3 and literally mix two tracks with stems, live, real time. No lag. No preparation. So it is possible. I just don't like djay Pro, sorry. I'm too embedded in the Traktor ecosystem. But djay Pro is fun for an evening or weekend off.

With Serato, it doesn't work smoothly with "live stems" and outdated systems. For Serato you also need Monterey or higher and a laptop from 2017.
But I'm really surprised that it works for you with a 2014 MBP and djay Pro without stuttering. That doesn't happen for me when I mix externally (with DVS and a DJM-S11). Not even a 2015 MBP with a 3.1GHz dual core i7 and 16GB RAM can do it for me. So I'm going to try it with a controller, I've never thought of that before.
It seems to be an exception in your case, or I'm stressing my system too much with background processes. In addition, the strengths of djay Pro lie in its ability to work across devices. So if you have an iPad or iPhone, you'll need something newer than a device from 2014.

I’m Mac person myself, but hanging onto 10 years old machine (be it Mac or PC), which is being used professionally is just not reasonable, unless one needs to freeze the computer to run very specific software, not compatible with more modern systems. But then one buys another computer for “normal” work…
I change my Mac every 5 years or so. This allows for technological catch-up and to be able to use modern OS and software.

Macs are beasts. And making one a dedicated for DJing only, is the best tool ever. Never had a problem with it in any version of Traktor playing 4 decks in HDI with pioneer CDJs and DJM mixer. Also at the same time with GarageBand playing guitar on top of my DJing. Old macs are so good for this that I have a second macbook air even older (2012 - only 4Gb of RAM) that I use as a backup if something goes wrong with my main laptop... and was NEVER needed yet.

UPDATE:
I've just used Opencore Legacy Patcher to install Monterey on my backup Mac (an even older 2012 - 4GB RAM Macbook Air 11"), and I will do some extensive testing with it before trying it in my main machine.
But all seams to work fine by now. This Mac is running smoother than my main Mac.
I'm not confortable of using a hacked version of OS for live DJing, so I will have many tests before I can trust this to a live gig.

ok… but is it necessary to quote the same statement 3 times?
btw. we're on the same boat, just in case you missunderstand my point.

They are beasts, but honestly for about £500 you can probably pick up an M1 MacBook Air now and that thing will wipe the floor with any Intel MacBook ever…plus last you another 6+ years easily.
