Kontakt 7 modulation wheel issues

When using piano instruments in kontakt 7, the modulation wheel just moves on its own in the plugin. It happens when I use my midi keyboard as well as when the keyboard is disconnected and I am just writing the notes in with my computer mouse. I have access through the Native Access subscription. Anyone else experience this?

That sounds like either the mod wheel movements were recorded in the DAW or you're using an automated library with pre-programed automation movements in a multi-layered plugin like Gravity or Allure.

Modulation just started acting funny in symphony strings series for me. It was fine yesterday when I originally wrote the part, which was recorded in Maschine 2 using a Komplete Kontrol S61 midi board.

the modulation wheel on my midi keyboard must be wonky, so when I start recording I’m guessing it triggers the modulation activity in ableton without me realizing. After seeing your comment @DunedinDragon i went back and started a fresh session without the midi keyboard and i didn’t experience the issue anymore. Thanks

I doubt that it's wonky. If you're recording a track and the mod wheel is enabled for one of the controls and you move it, it will record the movement. Just right click on it and disable the MIDI automation connection if you don't want it recorded.

One of the things I do is rather than try to do the mod wheel when I'm recording the keys, I simply leave it alone. Then I enable MIDI overdub and record again just moving the mod wheel which replaces any previous recorded movements but leaving the MIDI notes alone.

That’s the thing, I never move or even touch the modulation wheel. If I want modulation I usually add it in later in the daw.

Sorry for stumbling upon this post so late. It was in the Native Access section, I moved it to the Kontakt section. In case of you're still dealing with this issue.

If this is happening with a NI controller (or any controller actually) it could be that there is a MIDI assignment on another knob, touchstrip to MIDI CC1, which is modwheel information.

    Is it a MK1, MK2 or MK3 keyboard?
