Super Disappointed
I have had my Mashince mk3 for several years now. I finally saved up enough to get the awesome Komplete Kontrol S61 Mk3. For the last couple years I looked at how great the integration was with the Maschine on the Mk2, having the mixer on the keyboard and access to tracks etc, I had saliva running down my chin. I just assumed and yes my fault that NI would have gone forward with the awesome integration, and not just dump all integration and for what? I love the Komplete Kontrol keyboard, but now Im forced to make a choice, dump the keyboard or dump the Maschine because they don't play well together.

I totally understand your disappointment and cannot really understand why NI ended this integration. The integration still works with A series keyboards and Kontrol M32. They even come with Maschine software.
In my imagination the dropped support makes only really sense in two cases:
1.) NI drops Maschine at all. No Mk4, no software version 3.
2.) Big changes with Maschine Mk4 and Maschine software v3 and restored integration with new Maschine 3 software after release. They saved to code compatibility with "old" v2 software then.

The DAW mode doesnt even work in Maschine but all competitors software? Its weird IMO I hope their will be great things in the future. I love NI, just not this move.

You can pick up a MK2 cheap for use with Mashine :)

still a stupid decision on NI's part. I can't believe they still think their customer's dont use Maschine Intergration with Kontrol… 9 Months after Kontrol Mk3 release and still people are complaining, rightfully so. I can run this company better 😂 jk probably not, but it sure feels that way

I recommend returning while you still can. I didn’t and am stuck with it and the downsides far outweigh any new features like poly AT. You are far better off imo with a cheaper MK2 or buying something like an Akai Force or MPC Live 2, which can transition you off NI completely.

N.I. have stated that it is possible that there will be some basic only support for machine later for S-Series MK3 keyboards but nothing like for the MK2 keyboards. So as other people write then for any integration now and deep integration at all then you will need a MK2 keyboard. As someone else suggests/imagines then it is also possible that N.I: will later make a Maschine Mk4 that integrates with the MK3 keyboards, who knows , your guess is as good as mine.

The way they gurantee revenue makes your asumption correct, though it is always newcomers which is sad, though I'd have enough income I'd definitely get MK2+MK3 keyboards without question

Basic support is all they could do, since they removed all the buttons that were designed for Maschine software from the controllers.
However, it's far enough after the release that the OP should have known this and been able to avoid this disappointment. There are still MK2 units out there that can be bought brand new from retailers.
I do think it's a hard choice between the Maschine stuff and being able to control Kontakt directly without using Komplete Kontrol. For people who use a lot of Kontakt instruments (esp. with how many Play Series have been released), that's a tough decision. Think I'd go with MK3 and just get a Maschine Mikro, though. Guitar Center usually has mint condition units for like $100+ off.
