    Hi, I’ve been searching the internet vehemently for a solution to my issue… came across this insightful chat forum and it seems I am having the exact same issue @Boastie described with my S5 as well. My S5 seems to be talking to Traktor pro 3 perfectly (except for the Main volume knob) yet absolutely no sound is coming out of either headphone jack or the mains tried multiple headphones that work on other devices ect. If anyone has any more suggestions or insight I would be deeply appreciative as I really love my S5. Thank you Native instruments fam!

    Not sure how much different it'll make, but your outs are switched. You have Monitor Out going to the Master Out on the S5 and vice versa. Check that the master controls (out/monitor) on the S5 haven't got turned down accidentally as they're hard wired and aren't controlled by software. At least that's how the S8 works, I think the S5 is similar.

    @DJ Threlkeld : Make sure you have selected the S5's soundcard as your output device (audio setup page).

    Been a year already, time flies. I revisited this problem and it is still the same. I have a new macbook to play with now. all settings output to S5 as listed in comments. all ok on traktor settings, hardware talks to computer as it should via audio output and midi settings.

    No output from headphone and volume levels across all gain, booth and volume controls: all are well down on volume. Have changed xlr and trs connections from speaker to S5 and problem remains.

    I am pretty convinced something happened in an update sometime ago (early 23) and its not behaved the same since. note: all updates on mac and NI are all upto the latest.

    on Marks comments: swapped monitor and master outputs around on traktor settings. behaviour of deck remains.

    Gday. I spoke with someone I know with a S5 to ask if they are experiencing the same issue. They didn't know if their unit was suffering like mine but their setup doesn't use the soundcard in the S5! Bingo! So I hooked up an external soundcard I use on the side when working my day job to bypass the outputs and the headphone of the S5 and I now have all control and volume, an (audiobox go)

    Seems the soundcard has suffered a part failure in early 23. I used a video online to show me how to make this external soundcard work. follow the link below. The S5 now lives on.

    Thanks for the update. I never really used the internal audio interface of the S5, instead i used my Audio2Mk2 your way… basically always.
