Cubase 12 and NI Absynth 5

Hi,

Since a couple of days ago Cubase stopped working when I load Absynth as an instrument in a project. Cubase also crashes if I try to load a project that includes Absynth. I have tried all other instruments and everything is perfect - including analogue guitar. Then I tried to re-install Absynth through Native Access - but it just sits installing - nothing happens. Then I decided to delete Absynth as per the guidance in Native Access - then I get the message that the file cannot be found. So kinda stuck. Windows 11 by the way.

Anyone have an idea of what to do next?

Did you manage to solve the problem? It seems like I'm having the same issue: Cubase Elements 10 on Windows 10 crashes on loading some of my old projects with Absynth. Moreover Absynth is not working even as standalone, so I wonder if NI can do something with this problem.

You don't mention your version of Absynth. I have Absynth 5 on Windows 10 and it works just fine as stand-alone. Other than that then even Absynth 5 is now a 'legacy' product so I doubt that there are very much support , at least I do not think that there will be anymore fixing any problems with Absynth itself !

My version of Absynth is 5.3.4 and it is delivered through Native Access app. I haven't run the Absynth in quite some time, so it is very confusing for me now to get the crash result.

I've tried uninstallation of Absynth and even through NI Uninstall RegTool_64bit with reinstallation several times, but the result was negative.

Ok, my solution was to downgrade to previous version 5.3.1 from the "UPDATES FOR LEGACY PRODUCTS" on the NI website.

Yes , It were no problem once I set Ableton Live 12 Lite to use the folder with the Absynth 5 VST(2?) plugin as a custom folder, otherwise it were not listed in the plugins overview in Ableton.

But perhaps your question were a different one ?
