What's next for Maschine?

It's been years since any big changes involving updates being released for maschine 2. The clips feature was the last meaningful update other than a few compatibility and bug fixes. Personally speaking I grew tired of waiting and the lack of interest NI seems to have in Maschine, their newest keyboards don't even support it. Moved over too Ableton live and Push and haven't looked back.

Same here! Just sold all of my NI gear, MK3/Jam/M32, and bought Push 3. Figured NI would have said something to give us hope by now. This forum, compared to others out there has become very negative in my opinion. Maybe not to the people who are on here every day, but for someone who pops in every once in a while I've seen this environment become a bit depressing with many HW/SW problems and multiple nasty unhelpful comments!

Ableton Live and Push are different beasts to Maschine s/w & h/w.
Live is a full blown DAW, which Maschine s/w has never claimed to be, and Push is much more than a groovebox or "drum machine and sampler for beatmakers" as NI call Maschine h/w.
Compare and contrast:
Expansions for Maschine or MPCs = mainly drum sounds.
Packs for Ableton Live (and therefore Push) = drums, strings, synths, brass, piano, drones, textures....
[reads posts] User posts a negative comment, then mentions that the forum has become very negative.
Hmmm. 😁

I'm trying to be positive but situation is somehow depressing TBH...

Yes, they are different beasts but one could argue that's largely due to a lack of development which is kind of my point.

The fact that NI stopped making Maschine videos with Boris is the worst omen for the future of Maschine.
Bring back Boris!

They still showing Boris and Maschine. But MK3 not Plus...

Kontrol MK3 has been updated three times since October 1st.
Komplete Kontrol 3 has been updated eight times Since October 1st.
We have a large number of updates due in Q2.
I'm not sure I'd characterize that as grinding to a halt. Quite the opposite.

AMA is still planned. You might find it will happen closer to there being something to talk about.

There are many takeaways from various forms of research, of which this is but one.
One interesting aspect to the (non binding) call for votes is 1) the low volume of participation and 2) the somewhat even split between ideas.

I'll take the inverse of that bet.

Well when you've done videos called "how to do everything...", what's left to make? 😃

Sorry to be the one…but…there are updates and updates…the ones fixing what has not being nailed are welcome, but are not what users want… and not something to use to say “it is still being developed”
If I were an hairdresser and my client wants to cut 20 cm of hairs, I would not advertise having used the scissors 20 times to cut 1 cm at every stroke because I didn’t understand what he/she wanted and he/she had to tell me every single time “shorter than this” …
I hope this is not only referring to NKS2

I don't find that quite as interesting as depressing. But it's quite easy to explain, if you look at the participants: More or less all the same users who also submitted feature requests. However, NI could do something about the low and biased participation. How about sending out a newsletter with a call for votes?
