Ah, there we go. The good old up/downvote system that slowly turned reddit into a nightmare forum of liars (competitive fiction writers who claim its all true) & cliquey attention-seekers, and allowed most of the site to be used as a social media marketing experiment like facebook and twitter.

But Im sure here, on the NI forums, it will be different! The culture here is obviously resilient against dishonest, private equity-motivated customer service philosophies where downvotes suddenly land in the lap of every disgruntled customer and incidentally hides their anger from potential new customers, of course. I bet this place will be SO much better than that!

Just look at this thread! This community has never had more integrity than it does today.

Exactly, this isn't like we can't more changes if needed. The reason we tweaked the reactions was to give a bit more self-moderation tools to everyone. It doesn't affect the sorting but at least off topic comments or things the "community doesn't want to see" will be downvoted and hidden behind an additional click. We're working on the suggestion to add the code of conduct (a TLDR form of it) to the registration page now.

Reddit is also full of forever angry folks that turn up just to critic and contribute nothing but negativity ... hopefully we don't attract to many of these because of our new reactions ๐Ÿคž

Reactions have no relations to points right now and what we got from talking to people is that linking points to negative reactions doesn't work and is either abused or not used at all to prevent deductions. The only thing it does is collapsing a comment if 10 people click that button together (which it itself is very rare).

Anywhere people are able to post comments, it's the same - not just Reddit! Thankfully though, some places do have very good moderation. ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

It doesn't have to be only for things you personally know. I have seen hundreds of times, people asking so obvious things, or things that they are covered by NI support, which you can very easily find with a simple search!

It is a fact that many people are just bore to search and they always seek for easy solutions, while others do not know where to search.

So, if you are willing to help (no matter if you do it for points or because you simple like to help, or both), the answers are all out there and in most cases, they do not require some expert knowledge, just a moderate knowledge of the Internet, of NI products and of the audio/music world in general. This kind of research can also help you gain a grater knowledge.

I know very well Reaktor and Traktor and little less Machine and KK. But i am a complete newbie on Kontakt. Yet i answer Kontakt cases too, if they are not too complicated, not only to provide help, but also because i also learn a lot in this way. For some people, practice can be a much better teacher than manuals.

Also, it is important to understand that, many things are common on every audio app and the same rules apply (more or less) to most music creation software. You only need a moderate knowledge. If you know for example, what an LFO does, or what is a Sub Oscillator, or what is the range of a Low-Pass Filter, you can give very good answers without necessarily have every piece of software. Especially for those of us who grew in the old days and had some access to studios, hardware etc. this should be a "piece of cake"!

The only real important question is: Do you like this knowledge game? I doesn't matter if you get rewards or not. If you like it, you will play it nonetheless.

FYI, I'm helping Traktor DJ's ever since I had first internet connection in 2008 and long before paypal or other options to donate were availabe in my country, and helping every day even when I'm sick, like I'm right now. Every Traktor veteran should know that by now.

I am being honest always. I really do not care about points and if you ask Administrators, they will tell you about me asking for the points system to be removed - if that system was good then every forum would have one.

    @Sunborn

That's me on a different some time age very active DJ forum which was mostly focused on Traktor. https://forum.djtechtools.com/member.php?u=19803

And I only help others with their issues, not usually commenting on a random threads with random questions only to boost my post count. Post count means nothing to me.

I just started a New Question thread and noticed that there is a "Start a New Poll" option but I don't have permission to do that.

Is this a new feature? Also, what is the process envisioned by the NI Team whereby polls are taken? Although off topic in this thread, product feature polls come to mind. It seems that the tool is already there.

I think that has always been there but maybe I see it because of Mod perms. In which sub-forum did you try?

Yes, it's always been there and available to product teams if they want to make use of it. It seems like they went with the ideation module instead as it seemed more fit to get votes on features. With that said, we discussed making it available to users at a certain rank. We can include that somehow in the revamp of our ranks/rewards.

The Flag function does not currently have a button for "Other". I want to report something but none of the categories fit. What do I do?
