Sampler improvements
The sampler plays a special role, as Maschine is primarily a sampler and groovebox environment. You can record, alter, chop, mingle, and edit sounds to use in your production.
- When it comes to sampling, what are the capabilities you are currently lacking?
- Is there any reason why you prefer the Maschine sampler or workflow over others?
- What do you wish for the most when it comes to sampling in Maschine?

1. Euclidean mode.
2. Random file sample selection by genre, sound category and parameter settings - think Polyend Play.
3. Sample live remixing - think Elektron Octatrack.

- Vintage mode for Filter - FAT parameter (or even whole new filters emulation)
- MPC3000 mode inside other emulations
- Sample play mode - FWD, RWD, Ping-pong, RANDOM

- More filters (like in other NI products) + additional lo-hi EQ
- Sample zones (like in Ableton Sampler) with zone switching via knob control

I have two main requests/hopes for the sampling side in Maschine:
- The ability to round robin oneshot samples
- The consolidation of Audio module & Sampler module into one
These are the only things I think Maschine's internal sample player is lacking; if I want indepth sampler functions/features, I can accomplish them in Kontakt 6.8.3

I'd like for each zone in the sampler to have it's own output routing and envelopes. I don't need to have the full capability of the sampler module, but more than what we have now.
Allow the properties on the zones tab to be modulation destinations.
Let me load samples into zones automatically via the file name. I'm not asking for Maschine to replace kontakt; but I am asking for the zones section to not be a nightmare.
Alternatively, allow kontakt to read/write maschine format. I'll handle zones in Kontakt and then save in maschine's format.
Reason:
The "maschine way" is generally loading up 16 instances of the sampler module. There are times when it would make a lot more sense to use samples spread across the keyboard instead, but the currently capabilities are extremely limited.

For the actual sampler module:
At least two more envelopes and at least one more LFO.
I'd rather have a modulation section outside of the sampler that just allows me to load an envelope and point it at any modulation destination in the project (or at least the group); but I'm not sure how that could be implemented in a way accessible from the hardware.
Reason:
There are times when I want to put a LFO on pan and pitch, but I don't want to use the same values. I want a different envelope for amp and filter. I want an envelope that can change the LFOs. More stuff moving.

I'd like the Audio plugin to have a loop-at-sample-length function. Instead of looping at the length of a pattern or any other quantised duration, it would simply play through the sampled audio over and over irrespective of the tempo or pattern length.
A proper modulation matrix would be great.
M+ sample slots and any sample aware part of the system to have access to all audio used in the current project, a la Elektron's Sample Pool. Everything recorded, everything edited as a separate entry in the list, everything loaded from the library. I want to be able to create a cool processing and plugin chain and sequence and then audition all the sampled material I'm working on through it.

- Easier time stretching (non destructive) in the sampler module
- key detection
- stem separation
- Maybe a few more built in fx in the sampler

+1 to Key detection and Stem separation <3

All these advanced features mentioned in other comments would be great but the areas where the Maschine Sampling is most glaringly lacking are some very basic things:
PLEASE look at allowing us to convert stereo samples into mono by either picking one channel or combining L+R.
This is a crucial for sampling, please. I am really confused why such a basic fundamental tool for sampling is left out from a piece of gear that has so many other amazing technical abilities.
Also, being able to use mp3 samples would be so great.
Converting samples to mono and converting mp3 samples to wavs needs to be done in other programs entirely.
While using Maschine+ standalone I need to shut down the maschine. Take out the memory card, start up my computer, put in the memory card, open another sound editing program, find the sample in the memory card, convert the sample, save it again, rename it, close the program, eject the card from my computer, shut down my computer, put the SD card back in the maschine, start up my maschine+ again, rescan to find the new version of that sample.... you get the picture.
WHY?? This completely interrupts and destroys the workflow and the joy of using the maschine+ in standalone mode. Even using the maschine software I need to close it and open another program on the computer to convert the sampels.
The reason why I love the maschine so much for sampling is because I can do it all with my hands on the maschine (not even looking at a computer screen) and everything is fast and efficient. But for such a basic feature to be completely absent for all these years (I have been using maschine since the original mk1 first came out in Australia somewhere around 2009) it is very confusing, it almost seems intentional to leave this out.
I am sorry for such a long email but this is a really important and basic thing needed for SAMPLING. Please look into this. Otherwise, I love your work, thank you NI for amazing products.

Speaking of very basic things can we please have a master volume meter for the maschine+ in standalone mode.. Please.
Tool to visually see the frequency spectrum levels in sound (what frequencies are having big peaks etc) on the maschine would be such a huge help for working more in the maschine and not have to mix in other programs!
But in the meantime the master volume level meter please. So I can at least see how close the entire master track is to peaking while I am working. It's so obvious and simple it seems like a mistake to have left that out

Dedicated automation lanes that sit on the arrangement view and adding popular automation waves and shapes, as well as being able to edit and adjust them easily. And of course, the ability to copy and paste them all.

Can you somehow merge the Sampler/Audio tools? I hate having to bounce between the two to get the tempo right. Also, there’s no way to random pan a loop now.
23 -
Assuming you have full reaktor: You can get ensembles in the reaktor user library that will handle making things mono. Resample and then remove the plugin. It's rather simple to create your own ensemble to pick left, right, combine left/right, the difference between left/right, etc.
A bounce in place sure would be nice, but I'm not sure how it would be implemented on the hardware without having us menu diving.
I wouldn't be against adding it as a basic option in the sampler. Just thought you should know you have options that work on M+ without booting up a computer.

Capabilities Lacking:
1) Global edit (on/off) of "Loop" function for all samples & zones in a multisample sound
2) Foot pedal Trigger of sample recording
3) Auto sample >200 samples on M+ without crash
Why Maschine over others:
4) The hardware, however item 1 above has me using other software auto samplers for complex sounds
What do I wish for the most:
5) Item 1, I HATE that item 1 does not exist
