Hi all,
Just wanted to say that we have a workaround in place with our customer support team for updating the FW on the S88 MK3 on Windows systems, as the Windows Driver had some issues with it, which we are working closely with Microsoft to resolve.
I have the email text posted below (if you did not get the email), and please get in touch with Customer Support by following the link if you have a S88 MK3 and on PC / Windows (with no access to a Mac).
We are still working on other improvements to the device updater, which should help reduce the FW failure rate for all systems, and increasing our test coverage to include some of the specs that you all gave us of your custom built Windows machines.
Thanks again for your patience while we get this Windows driver issue resolved.

We're writing to let you know that S88 keyboard users are currently experiencing issues installing the latest firmware on Windows.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing, and we are urgently working on a solution together with Microsoft.
Macs are unaffected, so if you have access, you could install the firmware this way. Alternatively, please get in touch with our customer support team, who will help you find a solution for Windows.

Hello all, just joined the community after installing my S88 MK3 last Friday which was an odyssey (I'm on Win 11 so I had to hack the driver into the system with this workaround). What I am urgently missing is the possibility to edit the encoder assignments. (A 1300EUR keyboard that can't even send program changes if you don't want to do this with a mod wheel- seriously???). I found out this should be done the with Hardware Controller App, but it seems this app is not yet ready for Kontrol MK3, at least it doesn't connect with my S88. Am I missing something or will this be addressed in the coming days or weeks?

I'd assume that editing encoder assignments will be enabled once NI releases a firmwear update to "unlock" MIDI stuff in general.. hopes are late 2023 or early 2024.
And I think this will usher in a vibrant evolution of MIDI 2.0 along side NKS2.

You are referring to the MIDI Template editing? .. this is in development and coming very soon, in a newer system than the old Controller Editor app.

Hi @nightjar the standard MIDI template editing is also using the on-device computer capabilities, but is independent from the standalone Play Assist / MIDI functionality (to use Play Assist without software running) as that is also in development. Both will be released as soon as they are finished and tested.

Thank you Chris_NI , sorry for not being more specific. All I meant were with Jeremy_NI not being around at that particular time then the only ones I could think of that could have any qualified input would be someone from 'Product Team' such as yourself. Jeremy_NI usually also appear to act as a liaison between people in the forum and the 'teams' when 'teams' usually have not been around and there have been people that are 'dissatisfied' as it were the case in the original post referred to by me ! (Yes, usually Jeremy_NI got his hands full I think 🤔 )

Thanks for the info about the distinction between development paths of standard MIDI templates vs deeper MIDI functions.
I'm very much looking forward to the upcoming tools we'll have for Play Assist & advanced MIDI stuff.
Will some of the testing for these emerge in the existing KK beta on Centercode?

Yes - but the first thing to arrive in the beta will be Browser resizing (this was one of the highest things in the list I've been referring back to periodically).

Hello Matthew. Im very new to this forum and desperately need assistance. I just unboxed by S61 and it seemed to have crashed completely. It has no power at all and is not booting or showing any signs of life. I sent in tickets to no avail. Can you please assist me if possible. I tried all the ports and power supplies but its completely non-responsive.

If the keyboard does not come to life when you attach an USB-C power supply and you press the power button on the back and it does not come to life when you attach the keyboard to a computers USB-C port with a cable that is able to transmit both power and data and you press the power button on the back . Then the verdict must be Dead On Arrival. If so then nobody but customer support can help you.

I will tag Jeremy_NI for you even though you already tagged Matthew ! Please wait for assistance to arrive even though it may first be tomorrow.
