Noire can no longer load on Kontakt 6

I just bulk updated my plugins and can no longer load Noire. Kontakt is on version 6.8.0 and Noire is on 1.2.0. I'm getting the message "Your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file. Please update to the latest version." I'm on the latest version of Kontakt 6... is NI really expecting me to buy the latest version of Kontakt just to keep using the plugins I already own?

As far as I can tell, there's no way to downgrade Noire to a previous version through Native Access.

    Thanks for the links. It's a bad UI design to allow users to update all and wind up with a bunch of incompatible software. I hope NI can update access to update to users software limits and ask before creating such incompatibilities simply because we are trying to save time and "update all".

    Thanks a million for these links!

    I could not use Noire anymore after installing the instrument update. Thought I'd had to upgrade my whole system in order to run it again. These dmg's really helped in so many ways. THANKS!

    Hello! Thanks so much for helping us get through this. The problem I have is the link to download Noire and Hybrid Keys works great.     This is a real problem, I've just done a general NI update and it broken many of my old projects. I've have held a senior position in the IT industry for over 30 years and I am also a semi-pro live and studio audio engineer. To me this is unacceptable to not provide backward compatibility.

    I've just wasted 2 hours of my time trying to figure out why my current studio project has gone screwy, thinking something had corrupted or broken - NO NI broke it! If a Windows update or mobile phone update broken existing functionality that many rely on, there would be uproar! I am a long-term NI (and Izotope) customer and have spent a fair sum of money over the years with both organisations.

    My time is limited as like most I am busy, to waste 2 hours troubleshooting something like this means I am now likely going to miss a deadline. NI not acceptable - please respond.

    If you are a senior IT type - you probably are familiar with Release Notes - which are included in every single update that Native Access will attempt to download - looking something like this:

    This is the Release Notes for Noire (v1.2.0) - dated Sept 9, 2023 stating very clearly that if you decide to install this update - you will need Kontakt 7.6 (or higher) forevermore.

    Now - does anyone read the Release Notes? Probably not. But that does not bypass the fact that they are there and if read before action - could save many users hours of pain.

    Secondly - did NI do a bad job with this? Yes. Probably the biggest gaffe I have seen in many years by allowing all these new updates to overwrite existing libraries.

    Finally - Is there an easy fix. No.

    You will need to pick through your libraries - identify which ones are now failing - and then consult this thread - to download those libraries that need to be backported:

    You are certainly not the first to be burned and won't be the last.

    The only words of wisdom I can offer are:

    1. Tread VERY carefully within Native Access. (espeically if you are using a older version of Kontakt in existing projects)
    2. Never hit Update All - like ever.
    3. And read Release Notes whenever possible.
