Trying to update Native Access on a Mac Air running Catalina.

I get this message during installation, Unable to Install Daemon, Please Contact Support. I uninstalled twice using AppCleaner and the same thing.

Does anybody have any solutions or run into this with theirs?

You're the first to report it here @phanatik Since this is a new issue for us and it requires a closer look at your OS etc, can you reach out to our support team directly here? And DM me your ticket number so I can escalate it for you. 🙂

Hey @phanatik This issue seems to affect only users with M1 computers, you mention a Mac Air on Catalina so it's probably an Intel. Since you mention AppCleaner, it might actually be the source of the issue. We'd really recommend not using this kind of programs and even uninstalling them, as they can mess with your system pretty badly. I've encountered the same issue, receiving the error "Unable to verify daemon version, please contact support." when trying to install 2.0.7. Within the install process there is a point where an 'Install NTKDaemon' dialogue box appears, and for 'Installation Type' there are two empty boxes, thought it lists 31.9 MB required. It seems like something is missing that should be installed here but isn't. See attached. I'm not sure how to proceed, as the install fails (multiple attempts). Thoughts?

I'm running Catalina 10.15.7 / Intel, installing the Native-Access_2_Mac_Intel.dmg

I have the same issue and also have no options to select under installation type

''Please grant permission to NTK Daemon to install dependencies and restart Native Access. If the issue persists, please contact support.'' I tried to uninstall the Native Access app a couple of times, restart the computer, I even tried to reinstall this NTK Daemon app but didn't work. I've already reached out to Native Instruments support but I'm waiting for them to get back to me. Do you guys know what the issue could be?

That's right. When I download and try to run the NTKDaemon Cleanup Script by dragging it into the terminal it says: ''zsh: permission denied:'' I'll show you down here

I made it!! So basically I was using this app that I paid to clean up my MacBook and I disabled some startup programs by accident. I reactivated all of them and it worked! My bad :)

@JamesProductions @rhyot In your cases cleaning apps were the culprit, these apps that promise a lot of things can actually dangerous, we strongly recommend to uninstall these. I wish I'd never purchased anything from Native Instruments. I shouldn't have to jump through these hoops every time they update their stupid registration software.

Hey, how did you identify the start-up programs that needed to be reactivated ?

Hi Jerisma,

please make sure that the following two apps are not getting blocked or deactivated by the third party software you are using:

com.native-instruments.NativeAccess.Helper2
NTKDaemon

And please do not use any kind of app that promises to clean or tune or optimise your Mac. These apps cause more harm than they do good and can end up corrupting your whole Mac Os installation.
