n00b question: what are you guys using to generate audio previews for your user presets?

Hi,
I use Maschine to export short aif samples, then I mass modify samples names with a soft named total commander.
Then I use Audacity (freeware) to normalise, truncate silence and convert to ogg format in a single pass.
(Windows PC)

happened to me with Minimal RIFT. I ended up adding the bacground color directly in the image

With all of you great people contributing to the NKS user library, I wonder whether anyone did work on a (collaboratively editable) matrix yet that shows something like:
- Type (Synth, Effect, etc.)
- Vendor Name
- Product Name
- Level of Support
- Downloadable Links
That way we would have a "central" table where users could move to first, to check whether their favorite software is supported.

Me too except I use Audition to batch process, normalise and convert them to .ogg

I haven't used Maschine much. Can you explain that part of the process a bit more? Do you have to go one-by-one, or is there some way to do it automatically for all of the presets you have? I'm working on a pretty massive library of presets (the entire Musio catalog) that I'm almost ready to share minus the previews. Really hoping there is a way to do this without having to do it all manually 😅...

Yes, it leads to a DropBox with a part of the NKS user library. Not sure though whether this a) includes all user-contributions from this (now 111 page long) thread and b) it's a folder structure. It's definitely great already, but I had something slightly more user friendly in mind, such as a Wiki page.

Yeah, the work of those on this thread means there's probably as much User Library content as official NKS - it would be a BIG job.

Thanks Mercury you beat me to it. On Windows there is also Preset Magician which can assist with creating NKS and previews some plugins but only VST2.
