What’s up guys. I have absynth 5. I installed it thru native access with no issues but it’s not showing up in live 11.I recently went from live 9 suite to 11 suite. I have done everything from redownload, change file paths in ableton and in native access and trying to move folders in windows to no avail. Weird thing is I also installed original massive through native access and it runs in stand alone and shows up in live. can anyone help me out this issue is driving me nuts. Plus I had some sounds from absynth in a current track and I need them to finish.thanks guys.

    Hello,

absynth is vst2 only so you have to look under the right category.

Hi, I think I have the same issue. Absynth 5 isn't showing in Ableton 11 or 12, whereas it's working in Reaper or stand alone.

Even thought Absynth 5 VST is located in custom vst 2 folder in Ableton.

Thanks for your help ! I loved Absynth many years ago, I think it still has a lot of power.

@Somaticae Have you tried to reinstall Absynth 5? Make sure you don't have duplicates in the VST folders chosen in Ableton. Also try rescanning the plugins in Ableton. Click and hold "alt" while clicking "Rescan", which will force Ableton to scan ALL plugins,

Yep, I've done it many times, but I will try again.

I don't know if I'm late but I recently installed mine again just for fun and I found it hidden in my C:/ProgramFiles/Native Instruments/VSTplugins 64 bit. No clue as to why it was installed there whereas everything else went to my dedicated drive. Hope this helps.

It is there because that’s the path you allowed Native Access to install it to.

You need to manually change the paths to get it more in line with usual standards.

That was the default installation directory for VST2 plug-ins forever, and there was a field in Native Access preferences to change where VST2 plug-ins were installed. They've since removed that and it now defaults to the base of the system VST2 folder.

Komplete Kontrol and Maschine 3 automatically scan this location.

This is where I install all Native Instrumetns VST2s becasue I don't want them cluttering up the preset manager/browser in my DAWs.

Also, any products that require VST2 for NKS get moved here (AAS Player, Piano V2, Prophet V3) because I have the VST3 available in my DAW. The only reason to keep the VST2 is for NKS, so best to keep them in a location where only the NKS hosts scan for them :-P

This is less annoying in DAWs that let you manage plug-in visibility, but some - like Bitwig, Ableton, etc. - do not and it's a PITA when you search for it and have to double check to make sure you are loading the VST3 instead of the VST2 version.

Absynth is just a bit of an anomaly because it's VST2-only. Though I generally have purged all VST2-only products from my systems at this point (since these products also won't work on my Mac… I don't use Rosetta 2 for plugins… plugins are too easy to replace and allow me to avoid that performance suck).
