I can't activate the FM8 licence I bought in Plugin Boutique

Yesterday I bought a license for FM8 through Plugin Boutique and I haven't been able to activate it through Native Access. At first it gave me an unknown internal error and asked me to create a folder called Native Instruments on local drive C.
I did all that and even then I was not able to activate it with the serial number that Plugin Boutique gave me. How can I solve this problem? When I try to open the standalone FM8 it just closes itself. I am considering asking for a refund.
