CPU utilization unacceptable since the update
THIS!

I'm still on 3.5 and traktor uses significant more CPU then other DJ programs ๐
Would be a shame if it will start using more, as I sometimes want to jam while on battery.

Hey everyone,
When you have a moment could you please try opening the backup Traktor versions in Program Files\Native Instruments\ Traktor Pro 3\Backup and check if these version also have high cpu usage? thank you

Yes, but NI does not has your PC/notebook to try.... Even if they had, they would not have it set the same way.... If this version does not suit you and you cannot, or do not want invest your time, the best is to downgrade to previous version and wait until things are sorted out.
By the way, what model of i7 do you have? If the latest problems might be due to big.little architecture that Intel has introduced to x86 world.

Downgraded to 3.5.3 last. Worked like a charm. So the problem is in the code of the new version. Not mine.
Serato, VDJ, and Pioneer, also dont have the PCs and Laptops of their clients i guess...
Still manage to make more stable programs! Thats not an excuse.
I cannot invest any more time right now. Thats why im paying for something. Otherwise, you get paid for it. Simple logic.
(traktor fanboy for maaany years, and dont want to be rude. we are just having a conversation) Cheers!

More CPU intensive program does not mean not stable. ;-)
And, if you have the latest i7, problem may occure only on that particular CPU. Or combination of CPU and GPU, and so on. Company may test on many PC configurations, but by far not all.... There are milions of PC configurations...
I do not say, NI did it right. I do not know. I just say that it might run OK on most PC and not so OK on few specific ones..

If the previous version works better on the same computer config then problem came with the update.
Traktor 3.6 is putting more stress to the system and it really shows if you have older computers.

Thats what im talking about!
I've got an older Lenovo.

But more CPU hungry does not mean unstable. It just needs more CPU. Maybe iZotope thing, or whatever...
Generally, the problem is that developers usually have powerfull computers, so .... It may be thoroughly tested on strong maschine, and not so much on weaker ones.

It's not, one or the other.
It's both!
More cpu consuming, in a regular basis, and also unstable with high peaks and crashes.
I'm using PCs and Laptops for 22 years. Been a DJ the last 16. I'm not someone new to this, meaning that i understand more than the basics.
Can't understand why you try to defend NI, when its so obvious, that they are one of the slowest developers in the market.
(Still, no offense, and i really am into traktor!)
but...

I do not defend speed of NI development. I still use only Traktor 2, while having also Traktor 3 licence, by the way....
So far, there are two people complaining including you. So, it does not seem, the problem is broad. Maybe that your notebook is too weak to run current and future versions.... You did not write spec of your notebook.

I guess there are more. In the forum or out. First time i used the forum also.
(Or, there arent so many, because everyone left NI for others. Just joking. But i got few dj friends here in Greece and when we talk about this stuff, they really left Traktor for Serato...)
Im hearing few years now about, how low cpu requirements, the competitors software have.
My laptop though:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
Memory : 16GB ddr3 1600MHz
Windows 10
NVIDIAGeForceGT740
SSD1 : Samsung SSD860 EVO 1TB / SSD2 : Samsung SSD850 PRO 512GB
All updates installed, "extra clean", traktor / music / OS running from the main SSD, not even from external drives.
Its not the newest one, but with 3.5.3, or Vdj, or Serato, i can run a game in the background while playing live.
With 3.6, afraid to even minimize Traktor.
(Im sorry if something doesnt sound right, but English is my 2nd language. Cheers)
