I was thinking of using Machine only as a sequencer for Reaktor. Is this a bad idea?
I mean Machine can send out on virtual midi channels (corresponding to its track, I think)
Thanks
Just try it
Trying out different sequencers is always good to have a different perspective and get new ideas down.
Let us know how it goes @peppe from sweden !
Reactor is the better more sequencer (in terms of strums, velocity, pitch inside scale/ chord-making... velo-variations.... have a look at PHRASENDRESHCER 2 ... there is MAschine lightyears ago... ) than maschine... but however, you will have your reasons to do it that way!
Sounds complicated, but the best way would be to use BOOTH in (midi-plugin ready) DAW like Ableton or BWS... than you have to route Maschine MIDI (0ut) to Reactor (midi -in) ans so on... thats extremly wide-windowed and not proofed... What exactly do you want Maschine as "sequecner" (just as note/chord) tool..You will have with Phrasendrescher 2 much much moer fun! And this DIRECTLY inside Reactor or as midi-fx in your DAW (at least ABL and BWS)!
If you're considering that combo, it would be worth to check this out:
There is even a description on how to setup everything:
For both notes/gates and midi control of parameters. I can modulate macines informations in Reaktor and record it. Both audio and midi. I check up the link thank you!
Is it this one? https://aggregato.jimdofree.com/instruments/phrasendrescher/
This is version 1.
I´m beta testing the version 2, which is much more developed for "midi"fx.
Looking good!
