Hi everyone,
I’ve built MIDI Doctor, an simple online tool that shows the messages your controller sends when you press a button or move a fader or encoder.
It displays the MIDI channel, message type, value, and address in Traktor format—for example, Ch13.CC.00 or Ch13.Note.C2. You can also pause the monitor and download a report to review your results or share when asking for help.
It’s useful for building mappings, checking MIDI channels, or finding out whether a control is sending a signal.
Try MIDI Doctor on ProDJMaps
No installation or account required. Open it in desktop Chrome or Edge, connect your controller via USB, and allow MIDI access. There’s also a demo you can try without connecting any hardware.
MIDI messages are processed locally in your browser and aren’t sent to a server. The tool checks MIDI input; it doesn’t test audio or verify that a mapping works inside Traktor.
If you give it a try, please let me know which controller and browser you’re using. Bug reports and suggestions are welcome.
