I recently ran updates fom Native Access and it seeming deleted all my presets from the user area. I cannot find them on disk at all. Some Instruments also dont load. Any ideas?
You do not say but based on the version number given then my guess is that your problem is with the Komplete Kontrol app.
From what the manual says then presets should be stored in the following location :
On your hard drive, user preset files are saved in the following folder (in sub-folders sorted by instrument):
C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\Native Instruments\User Content\
Macintosh HD/Users/<your user name>/Documents/Native Instruments/User Content/

Have you tried a 'ReScan' in library section on Komplete Kontrol app Preferences to see if that helps ?
@Kirkwhetton Where did you "loose" these presets exactly? Use area from where? Maschine, Komplete Kontrol? Installing an update can't affect user made files, these are in different directories. Could you give a few more details, include screenshots maybe?
hmm I think actually Im blaming the software but did remember a couple of days ago a disk scan being done on bootup. I basically lost like 40,000 presets I had built up, many of them hand crafted. Lesson learned! Took me 3-4 months to do it.
That is bad for you. I do not know what kind of disk scan that you are referring to but N.I. discourages the use of 'cleaner' programs (including registry cleaners) because they can delete important files and registry entries. When your system is working then it is also a good idea to take a drive image based system drive backup and progressively take a new backup every time you have altered so much that you do not want to have to do that again… And then always keep a couple of backups in case some problem later appears that was included in latest.
It was the standard disk scanner on windows 11 bootup, obviously it detected an issue.
From your description then that should only happen if the hard disk health is bad. You should check drive health with a manufacturers utility , and e.g. the drive's S.M.A.R.T. data. If the drive has failing sectors then you should most likely swap the drive ASAP.

The most likely reason is a power fail or turning the PC off without shutting down so the file system gets corrupted. Was that on a USB drive or an internal drive?
Weirdly it was on my main drive, a 1tb m.2
