Rane Twelve MKII on current Traktor Pro 4.x — are TP-17638 and TP-18798 resolved?

Hi all,

Before I spend the money, I'd like to get a realistic picture of where Twelve MKII support currently stands.

My situation: I'm committed to Traktor (one-time purchase model, and I prefer the sound engine). I currently run two Technics SL-1210 MK2s and I'm deciding between keeping them with a wireless DVS solution, or replacing them with two Rane Twelve MKII units.

What I've been able to find is all from 2022–2024:

* TP-17638 — the "playhead skipping" bug, which I understand NI confirmed and filed. Has this been fixed in any 4.x release?
* TP-18798 — introduced in 4.1, audio input could no longer be assigned to multiple decks, which effectively limited people to one working deck. I've seen a post saying a fix was coming in the next release. Did that ship?
* The recurring "missing ground wire" warning in Traktor, on a unit that has no ground wire to connect. Still a thing, or resolved?

Important context for anyone replying: I play house, techno, sometimes 80s and more. No scratching, no beat juggling.

I'm aware the playhead skipping may be tolerable for straight mixing and unusable for turntablism, so I'd specifically like to hear from people doing club-style mixing.

What I'm really after is confirmation from anyone currently running two Twelve MKII units on a recent 4.x build — does it hold up over a full set, or are you still hitting these issues?

Also: does the official NI TSI mapping still work as intended on 4.x, or has it drifted out of date?

The playhead skipping bug is unfortunately still present, and it usually occurs unexpectedly. So it happens even during normal sets that run a bit longer, even without turntablism. You can still play with it; I occasionally use it at corporate gigs or B2B sessions when other DJs aren't using Traktor. The two biggest advantages remain the fact that you can play it with any software and that you can control more than one deck per player. The other bug, which temporarily prevented this, has been fixed. The mapping is still excellent, and you can easily tweak it yourself.

Edit: If you'd like, I can delve a little deeper into the subject. Oh, and the grounding warning is still there, too. But I simply disabled the deck header warnings in Traktor itself.

I'm somewhat sure that TP-18798 has been fixed.

Old TSI mapping should work with modern Traktor just fine. Almost no changes in the last decade.
