I’ve been working with Traktor Pro’s effects—now numbering 43—since 2013. I’ve used them occasionally during my nearly 400 sets with this program. However, I still feel like I haven’t truly understood a single one of these effects completely. As a result, the results of my use of these effects are often rather random—sometimes inspiring, sometimes disappointing, and sometimes something in between.
The new possibilities for controlling the effects using the MX2’s knobs have absolutely thrilled me. This has motivated me to use these effects more often again.
Fortunately, Traktor also loads a good snapshot (factory preset) every time you add an effect to the “Pre-Selected Effects.”
Here’s the scenario:
- I load and use Effect X.
- I change the settings and save a new snapshot.
- I remove this effect from the “Pre-Selected Effects.”
- I reload this effect into the “Pre-Selected Effects.”
Now the snapshot’s “Factory Preset” should reappear. Instead, the snapshot I last saved appears again.
This is illogical and should be changed.
But until that’s changed: Is there another way to restore “Factory Presets” from snapshots?
