Issues with Maschine MK3 - Help!

Hi!

Recently purchased Maschine MK3, problem is, I can’t get it to get recognised AT ALL even as USB DEVICE.

It powers on, with all the colours for a moment then goes to the black screen with Maschine logo etc but that’s it.

Tried:

7 different cables USB hub With and without Power Supply 2 different MacBook Pros

Like literally everything I could find online that could perhaps help.

I have MK2 that works perfectly, but for some reason the MK3 won’t show up at all! Not even in Controller Editor, firmware update or system reports on MacOS under USB tab, as if it only uses USB for power but doesn’t send any data

Has anyone had this issue before and managed to sort it out?

I would check if NIHardwareAgent and NIHostIntegrationAgent are running. Use Activity monitor for that.

If they are not, check if they are in Login Items. On a Mac, go in System settings. Under General search for Login Items and see if they are present, otherwise add them with the + , they are under Library - Application support - Native Instruments - Hardware (if they are not even there they have not been installed. In that case reinstall Maschine software).

Usually that is a good candidate for the issue, but for other reasons why MK3 could not be seen, check this article

I have checked for NIHardwareAgent and NIHostIntegrationAgent and both are running. Still no connection unfortunately, tried to do firmware update but even the NI Updating software doesn’t detect that MK3 is even plugged in 😞

It seems like a USB port failure on your MK3, not good news!. I have repaired quite a lot of USB ports lately on other kind of gear, and usually the interface chip is toast. I don't know the hardware of the Maschine, though, so can't offer direct help
