NATIVE ACCESS - KOMPLETE 7 - DEMO MODES FOR NEARLY EVERYTHING

Question

On a new computer from the installation DVD boxed set I installed Komplete 7 which shows and describes 24 instruments. At the conclusion it asked to launch "Service Center". I allowed "Service Center" to launch and got a "communications error".

I closed "Service Center". Searched for NI Faqs to find something, anything, that suggests what the new and improved method of registering Komplete 7 (and the 24 instruments) and found nothing specific. I did see multiple descriptions of "Native Access" so I installed it.

NOTE:No Native Instruments programs of any kind had ever been installed on this computer before. I have owned the computer, and Komplete 7, since new.

Upon launch, Native Access requested my login. I verified and confirmed my email as the original one I had used when I purchase the software from Guitar Center, updated the password, then logged into Native Access.

With "LEGACY" enabled, I was able to view SOME of the instruments installed but every single one showed "DEMO" mode next to it but many are still missing in LIBRARY.  The most logical explanation I could come up with for this was that somewhere in the process Native Instruments had 'lost' the serial number when I first created my account years ago when I bought this program.

I opened "+ ADD SERIAL". I attempted to "ADD" the serial only to get the same error message many others are that the "serial is already used". There's no hint of how to delete or reconfirm the serial or really anything else.

For the sake of clarity, I am the person who bought this boxed set from Guitar Center. I still have a faded receipt. I still have the original packaging. I still have the legible serial on the back of the DVD set. Nobody else has had access to either the DVDs or the computer at anytime.

If nothing shows on account then I guess that all other steps are futile  since you can neither install via N.A. nor activate if the bundle is not registered to your account…

so I guess I am probably confused. I've never loaned these DVDs out. I've never shared the serial number with anybody. There are no hacked instruments installed nor have any been installed. I'm using the only email and account that I have ever used.

I think that we are all confused here.  And you definitely needs the help of NI Support to fix the problems.

Please contact N.I. Support and include your serial and a picture of the serial and receipt if you still have that and then ask NI Support to help fix the problem.

Please notice that when you contact NI support then there is a risk that you will receive an AI auto-response and if the ticket confirmation that you receive is an AI response (should say so in email possibly at bottom) then it is important that you answer this response to let NI know that you still need their assistance. This is also valid in general , if you have a support ticket with NI then always respond to their emails as long as that you still need help , else the ticket will close.

With the recent churn (January 2026) in the business maybe its just time for me to rethink my options.

NI as a business ought to be safe for the foreseeable future.

As for the Komplete 7 then surely there are items that you could use , but if you take a look at the Google spreadsheet showing  Native Instruments Komplete Version Comparison 2.0 then while Absynth 5 , FM 8 , and Massive  as far as I know is still usable then apps such as Battery 3 ,  Guitar rig 4 Pro , Kontakt 4  and  Reaktor 5 are far too old.  So you will need to update the too old apps and in particular Kontakt  (and Reaktor too if into synth stuff) and the only really good way of updating more apps is to update to Komplete 26 (eventually when on sale - might be later this year or in first half of next year)(regular update price is 299,00 € For owners of Komplete Standard 13 and Older , and of course less when on sale).

Updating to Komplete 26 is worth it because you get both Kontakt 8 , Absynth 6 , Massive X , Guitar Rig 7 Pro and Reaktor 6 plus a lot of Kontakt libraries and expansions.

Of course you you should get your Komplete 7 registration issue fixed with the help of NI Support, both so that you will have the stuff hat is still usable at your disposal but also so that you can use the K7 bundle as base for a bundle update !

Using windows programs add/remove I removed everything NI including NA and all of my Arturia as well. All gone.

Done. I have removed every single choice NI reg tool showed as a choice. Its worth mentioning that where NA did NOT show the programs I had installed by DVD, the NI reg tool DID list every single one of them. At least until I removed them :P

I kind of derailed a bit with this one. When I list library with show legacy versions only players and controllers show up no matter which tab I show. If I choose "support" and "Add Product Content" it prompts for 'downloaded content'. I've never, ever been able to download Komplete 7 instruments, only install from DVD and it will not accept the DVDs for installation.

I'm attaching a few screen caps with no visible serial numbers. My best guess is NI has somehow deleted my purchase of Komplete 7 and I have no clue why, yet it still shows the serial number in use somewhere (see the screencaps below).

Note that clicking on either "these steps"  or  "support"
