This is my first time with a native instruments product… I got a Maschine mk2 but can't reach out to the original registered owner to transfer the license. Without this info is my Maschine bricked?

You need to contact N.I. Support and ask them to transfer the device to your account (also include picture of serial on bottom of device as well as purchase receipt.) . Then if whoever the device is presently registered to do not object if/when contacted by NI then NI Support will transfer it to you and you should also receive any base software for the device if any…
Also when you get a ticket response then please check if the email says that you need to respond to ticket auto-response for the ticket to be proceed , if it does then do so.
In general then if you have a support ticket with NI then always respond to their emails as long as that you still need help , else the ticket will close.
