As Maschine is very nice and quick for tapping in notes it’s well known that it lacks a bunch of modern sequencing features like probability, polymeters and midi fx. An obvious workaround would be to use an external sequencer but there is one Maschine behavior that makes this solution annoyingly tricky to use. Whenever I have a bunch of pads sequenced by external hardware and I want to record some other pads manually it automatically records all the Midi from all devices.
So I always thought it would be nice to have Record Arm buttons. But that’s not really easy to implement, right? So how about a global option saying: “Record external Midi only on selected Pads / Groups”. So you would have to be on the desired Pad or Group before you start the recording when you actually want to record the external MIDI and on the other hand would have the freedom to sequence desired parts externally without drawbacks.
