Over the last year I’ve been building a desktop app called Tagami focused on fast tagging and flexible organisation, built specifically with DJ workflows in mind.

I love using smart playlists, but prepping new music with tags and genres has always been time consuming and tedious.

seems cool, but be careful as tagging can break the stem link. Really wish there was a quick fix for this without editing the database file

@merve Thanks for mentioning this. I have just been reading about it and from what I can see in collection.nml, stem linking isn’t based on filename or tags — it’s stored in Traktor’s internal FLAGS field.

In my library, tracks have values like 12/14/30, while working stem-linked tracks seem to have the value 76.

From what you are saying, It looks like external tag edits can trigger Traktor to reprocess the track and sometimes reset or change that flag, which breaks the stem link. Restoring the original FLAGS value brings it back.

So it seems more like a Traktor database/state recalculation issue than tagging directly “breaking” stems. It's not that stems are lost, it's more that Traktor has assigned a new FLAGS value that sets it to a track that is something other than a stems track. Is that your understanding?

yes changing flags to 76 for the tracks with stems works to "relink" them.

As long as your whole collection has stems, it's easy to revert. If you have a large collection of stemless tracks, it gets difficult to figure out which ones should be getting the 76 and which ones should remain as is. 10-15% of my collection didn't have stems when I had to do this so it made it more tedious.

Actually looks like heavy modded fb2k. My version as example.

In fact, organizing library is a difficult process, i came to personal conclusion: files must be sorted by three qualities: physical location (folder with genre), tags (subgenre), and speed.

Yeah - I've downloaded the software and I am digging this. Took me a little while to confirm all of my own preset Tags are there, but the hotkeys for autotagging is massively speeding up my workflow!!!
