Kontakt 7.8.1 missing from native access even with legacy button activated

I can't see Kontakt 7 (full version) on the list of my library products even after activating the legacy button, logging out, quitting Native access, and logging back in. I'm on macOS Big Sur 11.7.11. I have the license (Courtesy of Jeremy_NI) but after having to factory reset my macbook pro, all I see on the Native Access list are the Kontakt 7 players, all of which run some of my third party instruments in DEMO mode. My Native Access version is Version 3.12.1 (762e76a / 1.19.0.0).

Hello @PoorFellow, thank you once again for all the help. While waiting for a solution here I had also reached out to @Jeremy_NI and he escalated the issue for me. I received a new license that worked. Seems like something was wrong with the previous license. My Native Access, macOS, and laptop were not the issue after all. I appreciate you giving me the benefit of the doubt with this matter and not insisting that the issue was on my end.

Pretty sure your OS is the issue here.

Native Access will not offer v7.8.1 by default. It will serve up the last version of K7 which was v7.10.9.

This version requires OS12

You can download v7.8.1 from your Ni account using the Download Manager

As VocalPoint wrote then you should be able to get Kontakt 7.8.1 from Account downloads when logged in and you have license for the app.

Otherwise then you should also be able to download it from here : KONTAKT 7.8.1 PC & Mac

in case of download problems then try logging in into Google first, if that doesn't help then copy the download to own Google drive before the download.

The above ought to help you circumvent the download limit.

Unfortunately, the Account Downloads page AND the Google Drive download you provided both install Kontakt Player and not the full version of Kontakt 7. I even downloaded a couple of earlier versions just to confirm and they all install the Kontakt Player instead of the full version. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

What do you actually see in your master (online) NI account?

If Kontakt 7 Full is not listed under Registered Products - you are not licensed for Full and no amount of installing other versions will get you past the Player version.

Note - Native Access has nothing to do with this - it is simply a mirror of your NI account.

If you have K7 Full - it will be clearly listed in Native Access as available to install. But again - your OS is also long since retired as is your version of Native Access - which is now at version 3.25.0 as of today.

I’ll try a guess:

By installing Kontakt from those files (external from NA), it cannot know which version of Kontakt (Player or Full) you own, and therefore it treats it as the free Player version.

And here is my guess: once installed, you need to “register” it in NA (by putting its serial number), so that NA will authorize it as the Full version of Kontakt.

If you go in NI website, under your account and “My products” you should be able to see your Serials by going in the “License Transfer” page and at the bottom selecting “Transfer a License” (unluckily they are listed only there nowadays).

If then you use your Kontakt 7 serial in NA “Add a product”, it should become aware that you own Full version.

As said, this is all just a guess, but something you can try

Installer is for full version. If you only see player then for whatever reason then you have not yet activated the product.

First check your account to see if you have the Kontakt 7 full version on account. If you have then be sure that you are logged into the same account with same email in Native Access.

If you both have the license on account and are logged into correct account in N.A. then try the following Trouble shooter here : My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access, especially '2. Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activation tokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files'
(delete both NA XML and Kontakt product XML) then restart computer and log in again to see if that helps.

Else if problem persists or if then contact N.I. Support and have them help fix the problem.

Also please notice that when you contact NI support then you will receive an AI auto-response and it is important that you answer this response to let NI know that you still need their assistance. This is also valid in general , if you have a support ticket with NI then always respond to their emails as long as that you still need help , else the ticket will close.

Kontakt and Kontakt Player app are one and the same app. It is the registered serial number that will tell the app whether to run in Full mode or Player mode.

Once again I appreciate you providing details @PoorFellow. As I stated in my original post, I have the license for the FULL version. I have followed ALL the troubleshooting steps suggested including those in the forum for the same issue. I genuinely appreciate you actually reading my post AND my responses and understanding what I'm explaining as opposed to assuming I haven't done what is required as evidenced by the other individual's condescending tone. I did indeed reach out to Support prior to reading your response and I did see the AI generated reply so I made sure to reply with needing further assistance. Nonetheless, I'm glad you pointed it out because I also barely noticed it.

Your version of Kontakt IS a special license (Not for Resale) - but that should not matter.

Gentle suggestion to contact support on this. Not exactly sure if they will help you with Big Sur - but you can always try.

Still think your OS is the cause - but Ni Support would know more about what is going on here.

You are most likely referring to VocalPoint. VocalPoint means well so please forgive him his to the point analysis style that sometimes is a bit abrupt which I guess in between can appear as being rude. Still he means well…

Yes , sorry about that. We see a lot of people here in the forum that do not actually read the emails to the end and a number of the people who actually reads the emails gets the AI part wrong and still opens more tickets. We in the forum can not help how it is. My guess is that NI wants people to read their emails why they put the you have to respond to this email to actually get any help at the bottom of the email where many people never arrives. The support mail style makes it necessary for me to point out the need to respond to the emails to give as many people as possible the smoothest ride when seeking support. Of course it can be a bit annoying for people to read my constant repeating the information. So I am glad that you could see the point of me repeating the information once again 🙂

Anyway , my guess is that your present problem probably is either an undocumented problem with using a too old version of N.A. or some kind of problem between the NFR license and the NI server. In any case then it needs the assistance of N.I. support to fix it.

There is a sale going ion , plus there also appear to be some turbulence in the NI support department (who from what we know do not work weekends) which might delay a NI Support respond. However if you do not get any response sometime next week then please return to the forum and ask Jeremy_NI to follow up on it , or we can call him for you.
