Maschine Controller In Reason Midi Issue

Question

Strange behavior with Maschine MK3 controller in Reason: Maschine VST in Reason receives midi from MK3 controller, but Reason Sequencer is not receiving midi from Maschine MK3 controller.

1) MK3 controller is being recognized by Reason (in Reason, Machine MK3 shows up in Midi settings as a choice) BUT…

2) It cant detect controller when pressing a pad or knob in the same Reason midi setting. AND YET…

3) The Maschine VST does receive midi messages from the MK3 controller in Reason. So the PROBLEM is…

4) The Reason sequencer/track does not receive the note/pad messages even though I can control the Maschine vst inside Reason - put another way, I can play the Maschine vst in Reason but I cannot sequence it in the Reason sequencer.

Ive followed all the directions. I will also add: Circuit Tracks (both MK3 and Circuit Tracks are usb connected to Mac Mini) does work. So it has to be an issue with the MK3 midi sending the pad midi messages directly into Reason. Ive seen people use MK3 controller in Reason and record midi into Reason sequencer, so I know this should be working. Ive added images of settings below.

I now see on your pictures that you don't try it in midi mode (what I would recommend in this case) you try midi to host, I think this will not work. And the midi to host signal is not coming through one of those midi ports, it goes directly from the maschine plugin into your DAW. So you could use maschine stand alone with a virtual midi cable or use maschine in midi mode (press "shift + midi). Sorry that I did not saw it the first time.
