Hi everyone,
I’m looking for help with a Maschine+ that is now permanently stuck on the “MASCHINE+ is starting” screen during boot.
The unit was purchased in 2023 and has seen very little actual use. It also remained unused/stored for a long period (almost 2 years) before I recently tried powering it on again.
The important detail is that the Maschine+ was previously working correctly. The problem started only after I erased/formatted the original SD card.
I honestly don’t remember the exact reason why I formatted it at the time, but after deleting the contents of the original SD card and reformatting/resetting it, the Maschine+ started having boot issues and eventually became permanently stuck during startup.
Current behavior:
- the device powers on normally
- screen and LEDs work correctly
- it always freezes on “MASCHINE+ is starting”
- it never reaches the main menu
What I already tried:
- multiple SD cards (32GB / 64GB / 128GB)
- formatting SD cards as ExFAT
- Master Boot Record (MBR)
- naming the SD card “MASCHINE”
- placing system-reset-v2.nut in the root of the SD card
- booting with and without SD card inserted
- connecting the unit via USB to Mac (the Mac does not detect the device at all)
Important observations:
- behavior is exactly the same with or without SD card inserted
- the recovery/reset file seems completely ignored
- no recovery/update screen ever appears
Because the issue started immediately after erasing/reformatting the original SD card, I’m wondering if:
- the Maschine+ requires a specific SD structure/content to boot correctly
- a full SD image/clone from another Maschine+ could help
Unfortunately the unit is now out of warranty, so before considering hardware repair I wanted to ask if anyone here has successfully recovered a Maschine+ from this exact situation.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
