Firmware Update Problem

Hello,

I tried updating my S61 MK3 to the new firmware (2.1.2) with the updater, but then the updater bugged, and now my S61 just display "Looks like something went wrong". The updater won't work, juste saying "error -2" again and again. I never had any issue with it, wtf is happening ?

power off / on , then leave it for like 5-10 mins and it should re connect to restart process

It might be the stock cable , I had issues with mine a while back when I got it , I had a plugable usbc cable , so I started using that and it works every time .

If you haven’t got another cable, try a hub and powering the unit separately

I have the same problem, and apparently, there are others experiencing it on other forums. I've tried everything, but nothing works! I have the original USB-C cable for my Kontrol S61, which I plugged directly into my very recent PC with USB-C ports, and everything worked perfectly until I installed the Native Access update "NIHardware Connection Service 2.1.2," which went smoothly. But as soon as I launched Firmware 2.1.2, everything crashed, and now I get the message "Looks like something went wrong," and I'm stuck! I've tried everything, and nothing works! The firmware starts up, but it just keeps processing, and even after waiting three hours, nothing happens! I can't use my keyboard anymore, even though it's very new! I hope Native Instruments will help us find a solution; I made a lot of sacrifices to buy this keyboard... :(

I have the original USB-C cable for my Kontrol MK3 S61, but if someone could give me a link to buy a cable that's guaranteed to work, I'd appreciate it. It's surprising that the original cable doesn't work, though. I haven't had any problems with other firmware versions! It's just with this 2.1.2 version! Thank you :)

this is the cable I got , - brand - plugable , I got mine from eBay about 5 years ago , it was much cheaper, I’m sure it was no more than £12 , wish I’d brought more

So what just happened to me is unbelievable! I just tried the 2.1.2 update with my old Windows 10 computer and an amplified hub. I recently upgraded to a more powerful PC with USB-C connectors, and my 2.1.2 update never worked, even with an amplified hub! So it seems the update problem with the Kontrol MK3 S keyboards stems from the faulty cable (even the USB-C one) that Native Instruments provides with them! I hope Native Instruments will do something to improve this, because when you buy their keyboards for €1000 and have problems with a cable or firmware, it's unacceptable! I spent over 48 hours trying and searching! And even though the problem is now solved for me, it's still unacceptable from Native Instruments :(
