MX2 USB-C-Cable - Importance of using the right one

Question

This isn’t a question or a call for discussion, but simply a heads-up about what can happen if you accidentally use a different USB-C cable instead of the one that came with the MX2.

That’s exactly what happened to me during my 11th performance with the MX2.

Everything ran smoothly for the first three hours. Then suddenly the sound cut out, even though all the indicators were working normally. I restarted the program, and everything worked normally again for a while.

Then suddenly the sound cut out again, even though all the indicators were working normally. I restarted the computer, and then nothing worked at all: the MX2 was no longer recognized.

Fortunately, I then realized I needed to swap out the cable, and the evening was saved.

Did the cable just die?  Can Traktor really damage perfectly working cables???
