I’d like to share some advanced workflow feedback based on how I use Maschine.
In my current setup, I rely heavily on routing between Sounds and Groups to build expressive performance systems. I use this routing not only for Lock States, but also to extend expressive control into chromatic (keyboard) mode.
By combining multiple effect chains, routing layers, and touch-based control (such as the Jam touch strips), I’m able to transform a single sound into a multi-expression instrument, maintaining real-time control while playing across the keyboard.
This allows for a level of expressive performance where the sound is not static, but dynamically reacts depending on how it is played and controlled.
However, achieving this requires complex routing and advanced setup.
Suggestion
It would be extremely valuable to expand the Perform FX section into a more flexible and powerful system, for example:
- Adding more available effects to Perform FX
- Allowing multiple simultaneous effect layers (parallel or chained)
- Providing deeper parameter mapping and modulation options
- Improving integration with chromatic/keyboard mode
Goal
To bridge the gap between:
- pad-based expressive performance
and - fully playable chromatic instruments with real-time expressive modulation
Conclusion
Maschine already has the internal capability to function as a multi-layer expressive instrument through routing.
Expanding Perform FX into a more open and scalable system would:
- reduce setup complexity
- improve real-time workflow
- and unlock a more advanced expressive performance paradigm
Maschine is already capable of this — it just needs to be more accessible.
