Mapping knob to button on s4mk3

I thought we used to be able to map knobs to button functions but I may be wrong…. trying to make a mixer knob act as a mute slot button, but I get the error "inappropriate control"…

eg when I press modifier 1, this knob will act as a mute for slot 1 deck A, ideally when beyond 90%, but I'd accept 50% being the on/off.

Funny enough I have been able to map the fx send on/off to these knobs, They turn on when I'm beyond 50% and off below 50%

All controllers produced after S4MK2 have this overmapping limitation, for no good reason i might add. In MIDI mode, and using generic MIDI mapping TSI, still allows button mode on encoder turn.

My mind had a short out. S4MK3 does not support MIDI mode. Yes, it's stupid and has caused long and drawn out discussions in the past. For the S4MK3 i only use qml code that does not have the limitation above.

Yeah, weird how they don't let you this… I used to do it with MIDI controllers in TP2 and 3.

I might have to do it via QML… I'm now using a less elegant system, but now have 'permanent' slot mutes when I press a modifier which might be better than having it the mute activate at 99% (the original idea for easy echo outs of stems)
