Traktor pro 4 quit working

When I installed the software everything was working fine

I'm using a Sound Blaster Z card, have all the drivers and software updated

The MX2 stopped working and I went through all the steps in the help section and I got the MX2 to light up and Traktor Pro 4 will respond to the dials and knobs but now I'm getting no sound at all

normally I would use ASIO4all as the device or Creative SBZ but now I don't get sound and the VU meter doesn't respond

I tried going through more steps, making sure everything was set to 44 khtz, nothing it muted, ASIO4ALL everything looks normal, all devices are up to date

Using the ancient Sound Blaster Z or the very generic ASIO4All, while you have a lot of excellent and much superior Traktor devices and ASIO drivers, is…. totally incomprehensible… 🙄

Can you show the audio page when you've got the SBZ selected as the output so we can see buffer size/sample rate etc? Also might be worth trying it without the MX plugged in just to see if that might be affecting things.

It is obvious… any of the Traktor drivers/devices is much-much better… completely superior… :-)

ok, i can understand the old Soundblaster… you know it, you use it for years perhaps there is even some emotional attachment… i also had an M-Audio firewire for over 15 years.

but this rubbish ASIO4all why?
this is a generic driver mostly for laptops without decent audio chip or for people who can not afford to buy an audio card… but you have a dozen of professional cards!

well I'm new to this hardware game, I've been DJing on Oculus using Tribe

I downloaded ASIO4all because I wanted to output my sound to my stereo using an HDMI cable, the sound only comes out of my stereo and I wanted it to come out of both my computer and my stereo and it was recommended by AI but I couldn't figure out how to get that to work either

Now i've been messing with it today and I got the MX2 to work and my sound back on my PC

I guess I should uninstall ASIO4all

so this is giving me a new set of problems

if I select Traktor MX2 WASPI I get no audio

if I select creative SBZ series I can hear it and the MX2 responds but I'm losing functionality with the MX2

the lights don't work correctly and I can't change the loop/cue button at the bottom

if I close out Traktor pro and open it again with SBZ selected my MX2 wont come on at all

so I'm having to select traktor mx2 close pro and then switch to SBZ to get it work at all

Always use ASIO where ever possible.

WASAPI is a standard Windows protocol. ASIO is a professional audio protocol.

If MX2 is your primary device, then use it's ASIO.

Going back to basics - if you have the MX2 plugged in, the MX2 ASIO drivers selected and the output routing set correctly does the MX2 work with the sound coming out of the MX2 headphones and speaker? Ignore the "built-in soundcard" setting and leave it empty. I know that's not the configuration you want, but the it will show that there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the MX2 setup.

Unplug all except for the MX and select this device from audio device drop menu.

If you still have issues after that than screen record your audio settings and Traktor UI.

Man, i have stopped your video on 2nd minute… you are showing us absolutely nothing that matters, you just play with fx and loops for 2 minutes, something not just completely unnecessary but annoying too, as we expect to you see your audio settings, possibly cable connections etc etc. not dj skills.
For a second, i saw Traktor audio preferences and said "finally!" but no… you took it out of sight in seconds… impossible to read anything… minute 1:59 i stopped your video… good luck.

Yes, i can see that. But your main problem here is how to get sound out of your MX2, not some buttons. Because those buttons to work, need the MX2, so if you fix your MX2 routing and get sound, the buttons will work anyway! Do i miss something? …and how we can help you to get sound if we can't see your audio connections and routing?

It should be really simple! Just route the MX2 output to your audio card's input or, directly to your speakers if for some reason you have no success with your audio card.

However, i see now that you vote down my comments, without a reason, even the really useful ones! Very childish behavior. …that's the best way to get ZERO help, from now on. 😠
