EXT LOCK

It's a real shame. I just discovered that EXT LOCKS aren't supported in Maschine3, Maschine Studio, or Micro. I was really looking forward to this feature, and the more I was excited about the new version of Maschine3, the more disappointed I was that I couldn't use it on any of my devices. Is this a temporary issue that needs fixing, or is this just policy?

Can you elaborate what exactly is this EXT LOCK you asked?

Do you mean Extension Lock which protects the sensitive electronic cable ends and stops unwanted disconnects for USB extension cables, HDMI cables etc?

If so, i fail to see the usefulness… you need to use force to manually disconnect the cables (at least on Maschine 3), therefore i believe it is almost impossible to disconnect by itself…

"Ext Lock" is the name on the button that opens the Extended Lock menu, where you see/manage/trigger lock states.

I dont have a Maschine Studio or Mikro to verify but it seems very odd that this would be removed.

Researching online images, it seems Studio doesn't have a LOCK/EXT LOCK button (and obviously never has had) and the Mikro (MK3) only has a LOCK button.

The feature is not new to Maschine 3 software, but those particular controllers don't have the button.

No. Maschine Studio have this possibility when you press shift and lock (on the screen). Now i’ve noticed it works on maschine 3 too. But with some problems. I will update if i resolve the problem,

LOL…. and it is just 30 cm from my left hand!
…believe it or not, i always see the Lock button but i never paid attention to the Ext Lock beneath! 🤪

On „extended mode” you can save snapshots (a loop, every set of your, for example mutes/mixes or automatisations etc.) on each a single pad. You can do this in up to 64 versions and switch smoothly or sharply (depend of your set up:„target” or „travel” and how long, 1/8-to 4 or 8bars) make transitions between them.

It makes sens for you?

It's common for older controllers to not have labels on the buttons for some things…

It happens the other way around too, new controllers like the M+ has missing buttons sub-legends and the features still work, for example Shift+Variation=Navigate but theres no navigate sub-legend, while the Studio/MK3 has it… big brain hw decisions lol.

Anyway, a missing legend is not automatically a sign of a feature not being available.
