Maschine Mk3 Mods Part 3

Hi all, a further update on my custom setup and workflow that transforms Maschine for live techno. I've hacked together a system designed for live performance and rapid sequencing, featuring everything from Euclidean sequencer, support for VST MIDI FX, DFAM-emulation, on-the-fly MIDI controller parameter assignment featuring LFO to trackpad-driven transition effects.

This involves heavy Lua customizations, a custom VST plugin that hooks the other VSTs, and a separate PC server.

awesome!!

i like the way you utilised the beat monitoring on the touchstrips, its a useful function if someone were to be syncing midi to ableton link or dj software!!

great implementation of VSTi's on your group buttons on the Jam, makes sense to dedicate a group to each VSTi

the miniscreen UI, for parameter monitoring almost makes the maschine mk3 redundant LOL… having such a UI that mirrors your BCR2000, for 32 parameters is just so handy!

really great ideas!!

out of curiousity, do the scripts that implements all the changes to the maschine hardware, work while operating as a Maschine3 VST?

I haven't tried operating it as a VST - but I don't see why they wouldn't work in principle.

i was thinking how you accomplished the beat movement LED on the touchstrips @ 7:16 on the video,

and it dawned on me how you achieved this with each LED light on the touchstrips

in "midi mode" by keeping the minimum & maximum value of the assigned CC strip between 117-127(lighting the top Led), should in theory light the top LED!

also the audio tracking LED's can also be running in unison given how you have implemented it.. which is something i've never thought to implement in my dual maschine Jam setup,

the beat follow method, i employ is triggering the maschine Jam button LED's upon arrival at each of the 16 markers inside an ranged loop within the DAW i use…

but it certainly makes sense to use the touchstrips for the beat follow… as Mjam buttons always require you to recall the previous button LED colour which can dynamically change based on what page functions im focussing

heres a old video i did running as a maschineVST… using realearn inside reaper, where i change focus of a single page into a psuedo 32 volume mixer(using buttons+encoder to reference track volumes)

Just looked at your YouTube ... that's a cool way to implement a 32 volume mixer.

I actually implemented the follow by customizing one of the Lua scripts that Machine users to power the Maschine Jam.

As an aside, something I didn't mention in my original post - part of the code implements a fake Komplete Kontrol S2 61 by proxying between the Maschine and NI Hardware Service. That way it's able to make the Lumi act like an NI controller. That provides a lot of flexibility - eg taking a similar approach to proxy the Mk3 would make the screen fully addressable (which I didn't need as I have the other screen anyway)
