I can record MIDI from my Maschine MK3 and a MIDI keyboard into Ableton’s piano roll either separately or combined. Heres how I do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2Kfg6aEsjI&sttick=0
How do I set up FL Studio to do the same thing?
If it's not a native FL Plugin, then in the 'wrapper settings' just select a MIDI OUT port for Maschine, then the same port for the Input of the Plugin. Inside Maschine-Plug, also set Pad MIDI Out to "Host".
I tested in my demo of FL and it works, for native FL plugs i have no clue as they oddly dont have a MIDI IN/Out option in the wrapper, no idea why… I think in that case you have to use Patcher.
So I followed these steps, and I was able to get Maschine to trigger MIDI serum 2, however FL was not detecting MIDI in the top left corner of the screen, nor was it recording MIDI to the piano roll. Then, I plugged a 5-pin MIDI cable from the MIDI out of my Maschine 3 into the MIDI in of my kk-mk1 keyboard. And only at that point… as you can see in the screenshot below…
…FL studio started detecting MIDI data, but it still will not record MIDI data onto the piano roll. FL is detecting all the right notes on the top left corner of my screen, but it wont record anything unless I play a D3 on the keyboard.
In addition when I press D3 on the keyboard, it plays both D3 and C3 at the same time, AND it only records C3.
I am aware the KK MK 1 keyboard is outdated, but it works perfectly fine in ableton.
This is what my MIDI settings look like in FL studio:
