MX2 - connections

Question

Hi

What's the best way to connect a monitor and control its volume in a live setting pls? I'm guessing its the line out jack, is there a way to control the volume?

Oh, I misunderstood your question.

No the mx2 has no dedicated monitor out. You can connect it to the 3.5mm jack out, but AFAIK you still control the volume together with the master / RCA out.

So you either have to

* get a cable add adds a volume slider between the 3.5mm out and the speakers
* Control the volume directly at the speakers
* Set up a small PA mixer between out and monitors

I would suspect the mx4 will have dedicated monitor out.

I think its a great little mixer for beginners and small party venues. I learnt my craft originally on a belt drive old fashioned disco console from I bought in an auction. As soon as I could afford some Technics bought a pair of SL1200s. I love Traktor ,I did have a S4 mk3 I purchased around lockdown direct from native think it cost £750… Ended up out of work for a while and had to part company with it…Hence the MX2. Unfortunately I think I'll have to change it, wished id realised beforehand. Hindsight would be Wonderfull. I've got a gig booked for Good Friday, so have a bit of time.
