Hi everyone, I’m currently unable to install Kontakt 8 Player via Native Access. The installation consistently fails with the message: “You may need to grant full disk access to Native Access and the Daemon.” Before posting here, I went through a full clean setup and double-checked all required permissions. Important details: * Full Disk Access is enabled for BOTH Native Access and NTKDaemon * Native Instruments background items are explicitly allowed * Native Access was cleanly reinstalled * Mac restarted multiple times * Content is located on an external SSD * Applications are installed on the internal system drive Current situation: * Kontakt 7 Player installs and runs without issues * The library “Handcrafted Piano” is installed correctly * However, it runs ONLY in Demo Mode in Kontakt 7 * Kontakt 8 Player cannot be installed at all, so the product cannot be used As a result, I currently have no way to use a fully licensed product. Has anyone experienced the same issue with Kontakt 8 Player installation on recent macOS versions? Any known workarounds or official guidance from NI would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Generally what that's referring to is applying ADMIN rights when launching Native Access. At least that's how it works in the PC world, not sure how that gets applied on a Mac.

Be sure that you are using latestversion of Native Access for your OS

Else then it could maybe have something to do with the increased security : if using Sequoia/Tahoe then N.I. apps must be added to the Local Network (Ref.: How to grant audio apps access to your local network on macOS 15 Sequoia)

But I am not sure if that N.A. and the NTKDaemon can be added to the 'Local Network'….

Anyway , did you see if you can download and install Kontakt 8 Player via the Account downloads ?

If you have it in Native Access then it should be on Account downloads also…. Else then see if you can add it by adding the free Komplete Start to account , then reboot and check again.

Else then you also get an old version K8P here : KONTAKT8.1.0

in case of download problems then try logging in into Google first,if that doesn't help then copy the download to own Google drive before the download.

The above ought to help you circumvent a Google download limit.

Anyway then the installation could still fail but also maybe give you another error that will help you get further if checking….

I can confirm the following on my system:

I am running the latest Native Access (v3.22.0)
macOS 26.2 (Tahoe / Sequoia branch)
Kontakt 8.8.0 (standalone, Apple Silicon)

Regarding macOS security:

Kontakt 8 and Native Access both have Full Disk Access
Local Network access does not appear available for Native Access or NTKDaemon in System Settings (they don’t show up as eligible apps there)

Kontakt 8 Player itself installs and launches fine (also via Account Downloads / Komplete Start), so this does not seem to be a general K8 Player installation issue.

After extensive testing, I believe the core issue was Native Access not registering the library correctly due to an incorrect global Content Location:

Native Access was previously set to:

…/NI-Libraries/Handcrafted Piano

Instead of the required parent folder:

…/NI-Libraries

This caused the library to:

appear as activated in Native Access,
but still run in Demo Mode inside Kontakt 8,
not show up under Kontakt → Options → Libraries,
and trigger “Content Missing” errors and crashes when Kontakt attempted filesystem searches.

Once the Content Location was corrected to the parent folder and the library reinstalled, Native Access reset the product state (showing “Install” again), which finally allowed a clean reinstall and proper Player recognition.

So in this case, the issue was not licensing per se, but Native Access being pointed to a library subfolder instead of the global content directory.

Hope this helps others running into similar Demo Mode issues on newer macOS versions.
