Greetings,
I've recently made the mistake of purchasing a Maschine Mikro 3 second hand, which of course is still registered to the previous owner. Whom I cannot contact.
I am waiting for Native Instruments to get back to me about transferring the serial number to my account so I can install the Maschine app. However, the "amazing" AI help chatbot stated that I don't need to install the Maschine app on my computer to use the Mikro 3 as basic MIDI control in Logic Pro.
I've plugged in the hardware, set it to MIDI mode and installed the controller editor app. In the app i've selected Maschine Mikro mk3, selected the Mackie control template, and enabled host transport control. Gone into logic, control surfaces and did set up as instructed here:
https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/209582749-Setting-up-Your-Maschine-Controller-for-Host-Transport-Control-in-Logic-Pro
When selecting the input port, I don't see the Maschine virtual input; there's nothing. Maschine does not appear in the Audio MIDI Setup, although it does appear in my list of hardware. When I tried the firmware updater, it recognised I had a device plugged in and said "no further updates can be made".
When I plug in the Maschine, it flashes, then goes blank except for the small screen displaying "Maschine Mikro". When I put it into midi mode, it doesn't respond, flash or do anything. In the controller editor, the connect button is greyed out. I've tried multiple usb inputs and cables. Nothing. I've restarted the computer, tried doing everything multiple times.
Is the chatbot lying to me? Do I need to install the maschine app before I can do anything with Mikro Mk 3? If not, anyone have any ideas why it won't connect?
