Kontrol S2 mark 3 with Pro 3

The above was supplied about 2 to 3 years ago. I have a home studio and I use a Focusrite USB ext sound card (4i4 for all my recording needs. With Adam A7X studio monitors.

I use a PC based DAW running various music software apps including Steinberg Cubase 14 etc etc

And of course Kontrol S2 Mark 3 that came supplied with Pro 3.

This setup used to work EXACTLY as I expected. I remember using the Headphone's to cue tracks and just later in 2024 disaster struck. Due to a very serious brush with death I was out of the loop until now.

I have good tech skills and know the Traktor DJ'ing software at a very basic home enthusiast level. I assumed I would pick right up>

BUT!!

I cannot for the life of me figure out how I play the MAIN audio through my Adam's while I Monitor the cues in my headphones.

If I choose the Native Instruments drivers for the S2 Mark 3, I do get the main outputs as an option and the headphones. I can't use those outputs as you would expect.

You need Asio4All where you can combine two soundcards.

Then you need to choose Asio4All in traktor and setup output routing in traktor settings

Please can you expand on your statement i need combine 2 sound cards? This doesn't make sense to me.

I am not trying to combine 2 sound cards, I have a single focus-rite 4i4 USB ext card and in the configuration of this card it allows me to select Software Playback which I can route to 1, 2, 3 or 4 unique outputs. This is all handled by the Focusrite drivers.

The ONLY 1 thing that doesn't appear compatible is Traktor even though when I re-installed Pro3 it prompts to install S2 mk 3 drivers which appear in the traktor configs. are we on the same page here?

Nevertheless, I tried the unsupported asio4all v2 and it does not work at all as far as I can see.

Also, this config of Traktor. Focusrite was working perfectly before I was hospitalized. Thoughts??

Where are the headphones connected to?

If they are connected to your Focusrite, you need to select that as your soundcard in traktor.

If they are connected to your s3, while your speakers are connected to your Focusrite, you would need to combine soundcard.

As I understand it, the monitors are connected to your Focusrite sound card and your headphones are connected to Traktor S2mk3. If so you need to combine soundcards (s2mk3 and focusrite) in one aggregate device.
If both monitors and headphones are connected to the Focusrite sound card then you need to chhoose it in the Traktor Pro settings Audio Setup - Audio Device. Then you need to setup Output Routing

Hi! i use the s2 mk3 with an external behringer soundcard. You have to connect the headphones to your sound card if you selected it as traktor device.

Hello,

Im a bit confused, if you want to use the focusrite 4i4 for your monitors and your headphones, then of course you have to select it in the audio settings. Then master goes to 1-2 and monitor to 3-4. And the focusrite set accordingly, no mix on both outputs just 1-2 to 1-2 and 3-4 to 3-4 in focusrite software. You can also try to reset the driver's then the routing is correct for your purpose.
