Convert Controller Editor MIDI Template for Maschine MK3 to Maschine+

Using Controller Editor, I've created a heavily modified MIDI template for Maschine MK3 and Logic Pro integration, and I would like to use the same one with my Maschine+ hardware. Controller Editor exports a .ncm3 file for Maschine MK3 templates, and a .ncmp file for Maschine+ templates. Is there any way to convert the .ncm3 file to a .ncmp file? Simply changing the extension does not result in a file compatible with the Plus, unfortunately. Creating a brand new template from scratch for Maschine+ would be extremely time consuming, considering the number of modifications I've made on my MK3 template.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

There's no built-in conversion tool, but you can manually edit the files since it's just xml. Get any decent free text editor, bbedit, sublime text, etc…

In Controller Editor on the Template Menu export your MK3 .ncm3 template file and also export any Maschine Plus .ncmp file, open both with the text editor.

Copy the header from the .ncmp to the .ncm3, meaning that at the start of the files you replace this

With this

<ni-controller-midi-map version="1">

  <midi-map type="MaschinePlus" name="Mk3 to Plus" port="internal">

The name= might have to match the filename, not sure. Then change the file extension from .ncm3 to .ncmp and load the edited template in Controller Editor.
