Can't use guitar rig 7 while using a youtube video onlina

Hi!

I used to play with Guitar rig 5, everything was perfect. Then I installed GR 7 and I can not use it at the same time with youtube videos (backing tracks etc.). In preferences the shared mode doesn't work. I notice that I can play with my guitare alone, with different effects, but without using youtube (or videos on my comp).

I cjhecked everyting on my comp, can't understand what is wrong. Maybe it is not compatible?

Do you have some info on this? Can I get GR 5 back somewhere?

Without telling us what audio interface you are using or your OS - this is hard to troubleshoot.

You will need a good ASIO driver to allow you to have multiple audio inputs happening at the same time.

This is not an app specific problem but a driver problem.

A lot of people do not like the Steinberg driver that I use myself because they consider it 'not real ASIO driver' but for my own present light use then it has been great for me. So my own suggestion is this :

First make a computer restore point/backup so that you can revert anything that you do if unhappy with the result.

Try using Steinbergbuilt-in ASIO Driver: information & download for all music programs and DAW

then also do the following :

Open a Windows Administrator Terminal/Command prompt

in command prompt type mmsys.cpl

hit enter

Select tab Playback , Select your active audio device (e.g., your speakers or headphones), right click and click Properties.

Select tab Advanced . Uncheck both options under Exclusive Mode (Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device Give exclusive mode applications priority)

Click Apply and OK.

Also remember to check that the Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver Setup (x64) is setup to use your audio device (Found in Windows Start menu after Steinberg driver installation).
