Is there a way to just flip the layout of ALL preset kits?

Hi everyone,

I'm left handed and I basically can't play any of the millions of kits I now have because I need the hats on the left andthe kick/snare on the right.

Is there a way to just flip everything or re-map them, either with Maschine or with some external software.

Even if I edit every one by changing the layout, I don't seem to be able to override the factory presets which is a massive pain - I don't want them to appear as user presets because they have a seperate browser section and they are also not really user presets. It wouldn't bother me as much if it weren't for this fact that I can't override the factory presets with an adjusted layout (no other changes, that would be for user presets)

I'm only using a Mikro Mk3 so navigation is limited. Further, every time I buy any packs I'll need to go through all the kits and re-arrange them all.

I'm thinking, this is such a massive pain, that surely there must be a way to just tell the thing you're left-handed and have it flip the drum samples? On just include a button to do it on and off somewhere in the software?

Note: it's only an issue for drums obviuosly.

No, there is no automated way. It's not just your use case of being left-handed, tons of people like their kick, snare, hats etc on specific pad positions, it would be nice to be able to set a custom pad position preset. It would also be nice to just open the kits/groups with only drums. Many things would be cool.

You can manually change them all, once by one and save, then it should show up in your USER browser, but yes this is extremely laborious.

So, I did discover that you can replace the factory presets, it's just the browser doesn't open in that folder when you go to "Save" the group. That make the process of changing them all even more long and laborious….

Has anyone done this already for any available banks?

Seems to be the case with MPCs too. I just found a thread on MPC-forums from a lefty asking the same thing. One of those things I suppose - it's a "right handed world".

Yes, I'm a guitar player and it is without a doubt a right-handed world 😭

However, in the case of software-programmed pads, I would've thought technology provides a great opportunity here to enhance accessibility. It's not beyond the realm of reason to think that a reverse mode could easily be coded into the software or the firmware. All you have to do is tell it that pad 1=4 and pad 2=3 etc…

It's a bit different from the physical limitations a lefty faces with something like a guitar for example, because this could be solved with a snippet of code and a little UI tweak and then serve hundreds or thousands of people in one go.

Whats the best way to open dialouge with NI about this? Here on the forum or a support ticket? I can't find a dedicated feature request or feedback form…

Depends on what you mean by open dialogue. Accessibility is more in the context of providing tools for people with impaired vision afaik.

You can make a thread and tag it as both a 'feature suggestion' and Maschine, there are currently 640 pages with 10 posts each, so… almost 7000 suggestion threads, when the vast majority doesn't even know to use tags so in reality the number is wayyyyyyy bigger. It's not just for my Maschine but it still gives you an ideia of how many people are out there throwing ideas. 🤷‍♂️

Via ticket the best you get is "I'll make sure to pass this suggestion to our colleagues"; tech-support has nothing to do with the higher ups who make decisions.
