Replicate Z2 Filter Auto-On/Off Behavior on S2 MK3 - Traktor Pro 4

Dear Native Instruments Support,

I am writing to request assistance with a specific mapping configuration in Traktor Pro 4 that I have been unable to resolve.

My Setup:

· Software: Traktor Pro 4

· Hardware: Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 & Traktor Kontrol Z2

· Computer: MacBook 2020

· Operating System: macOS [Please insert your macOS version here]

Specific Issue:

I own a Traktor Kontrol Z2 mixer, and I heavily rely on its filter's intuitive behavior: it automatically activates when the filter knob is turned from its center position and deactivates when returned to center.

I would like to replicate this exact same behavior on my Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3, but I have not found a way to configure it through the Controller Manager.

Desired Behavior on S2 MK3:

1. The filter automatically activates when the knob is turned from the center (12 o'clock) position.

2. The filter automatically deactivates when the knob is returned to the center position.

3. No additional buttons should be required for this on/off function.

What I Have Tried (Without Success):

· Mapping "FX Unit > On/Off" with various Interaction Modes (Direct, Toggle, Hold).

· Using modifier conditions based on MIDI values.

· Searching for options like "Filter + Resonance On" (which does not appear in the menu).

Specific Question:

Is it possible to replicate the Z2's filter auto-on/off behavior on the S2 MK3 via advanced MIDI mapping? If so, could you please provide the specific steps or a pre-configured .tsi file?

I would greatly appreciate your technical guidance in resolving this workflow issue, as I am already accustomed to and dependent on this feature from using the Z2.

You can add some qml code to the corresponding qml file for the S2MK3 that automatically changes ON/OFF state depending on wether or not the filter value is exactly in the middle position.

Open the file '…\Native Instruments\Traktor Pro 4\Resources64\qml\CSI\S2MK3\S2MK3Channel.qml' with a good coding editor, like Notepad++.

In line 25 it says:

Wire { from: surface_prefix + "channel_fx.amount"; to: DirectPropertyAdapter { path: app_prefix + "fx.adjust"; }}

Just underneath, add the following lines:

AppProperty { id: fxOnProp; path: app_prefix + "fx.on" }

AppProperty {
  id: fxAdjustProp;

  onValueChanged: {
    if (value == 0.5) {
      fxOnProp.value = false;
    }
    else fxOnProp.value = true;

}

Make a safety copy of the original file first, in case you want to revert.

Note: This change will not migrate to the next patch. You will have to plug the code in again after every update.

Note2: As long as the S2MK3 mapping with the code changes active is loaded, the filters (for channels A+B) will work like this, even if you change the filter value with a different controller or even with the mouse.
