MASCHINE 3.4 - Optimized Linear Automation Points for Control Codes (CC's)

The Maschine Software 3.4 update reads:

"• Optimized Hardware Automation Recording Your hardware performances are now captured as clean, optimized linear points. This means no more cluttered lanes with micro-steps, just the smooth performance you played, ready to be edited."

When capturing a live performance on the Maschine MK3 using Native Instruments Stradivari Violin and using the MOD feature with the finger strip to control the instruments intensity, the automation lane for CC01 is not being captured as "clean, optimized linear points". The Volume Expression CC11 using the Komplete Kontrol Keyboard and it Expression Strip is also not capturing the automation as a "clean, optimized linear points" and therefore the nice new edition tools provided in Maschine Software update 3.4 do not apply.

Is this an oversight or are there plans to include this functionality? Is there a way that I am not understanding to assign this functionality in order to be able to benefit using the new editing features in release 3.4?

The MIDI Control Codes are used in so many virtual instruments to control things like volume, expression, intensity, vibrato width and speed, etc. In the case of NI's Stradivari Violin for example, the vibrato rate and intensity are assigned to use the new editing tools but Virtual instruments from Spitfire and Eastwest use only CCs.

I've included a screenshot to be clear on the automation lane(s) I'm speaking of. Appreciate everyone's thoughts on this topic.

It's only available for Parameter Modulation, not MIDI modulation (?) … If you notice, there are also no lines or curves for MIDI for some weirdo reason, so it's using the old method…. 🤷‍♂️

I completely agree D-One. When I read that NI was reworking and improving their automation lane functionality and editing capabilities, I was so ecstatic in pure anticipation ! ! ! Back when we, the users were polled as to what improvements we wanted to see in the 3.0 release of Maschine, my #1 pick was exactly that. I use CC1, CC11, CC2, and CC64 on every track I produce. I also use the other parameter automation on occasion but the CC's are the primary. So many of the Native Instrument virtual instruments use the "MIDI Continuous Control" codes for automating various features not to mention the numerous 3-party instruments. Even using Maschine's MOD function with the touch strip forces one to still use the old non-liner style lane with no advance editing features.

So disappointing to find that the NI development team only tackled 1/2 of the Maschine Software's automation capabilities. Now we have to switch between editing methods instead of just having a single approach like Cubase and Logic have for example.

I love the work-flow and the direction that Maschine software was heading. I just wished when they decided to fix or improve a feature, that they would do it all in a single release.

Anyway, not intending to rant here. Was hoping I was missing some other approach to re-assigning those CC functions to a parameter that does work in the new lane style. Any Ideas as a work-around???
