3.4 MASCHINE UPDATE HOW TO USE NEW AUTOMATION CURVE

It’s honestly unclear how this new Smooth Automation

This feature is supposed to work in Maschine. I get that it’s still early, but this release already feels kind of botched and overhyped. There aren’t any clear instructions or documentation on how these features actually function, even though NI has been hyping this update for weeks. Kinda disappointing, to be honest.

I think at least for me Jeremy, the confusion is when the words modulation and expression are used.

NEW: Curve Editing This is a huge new creative tool. You can now create smooth, curved slopes by simply holding Alt (Option on macOS) + dragging any line segment. This is perfect for filter sweeps, synth swells, and dynamic, expressive modulation.

When I first saw the update, I was thinking Modulation CC1 and Expression CC11 used on many of the string and wind style instruments on the market today, including many that are provided by Native Instruments. Those lanes still just draw the single vertical bars just like a velocity line for a single note on for example a piano.

I was thinking when first reading about the update and also when I had requested new features that your team would have changed the way those CC's were displayed and edited in the Maschine 3.0 editor. Does that make things clearer Jeremy?

That said, I was really hoping to see those CC's automation lines displayed much like Logic or better yet Cubase where curves and straight line in a linear fashion can be achieved.

Confirmed working for me. Win 10 PC. i5 Change the set points to wider to view the new tool.

I didn't mention it in my last post but yes, the new feature works for me too on the Mac when automating the parameters that are displayed on the Maschine knobs and also the perform FX. We still do not have horizontal lines when using for example MOD on the Maschine MK3 and the strip or the MOD wheel on the Komplete Kontrol keyboard (CC1) or the strip (CC11).

ok that´s sad, figured out by setting up a makro to pitchbend, wheel or any cc

in an empty sound slot, there u get it….with the makro Knob 😏
