I have the MPC desktop software will the MPC plugins by Native Instruments work with new MPC3 Beta on my computer or do I need the standalone to experiece the play series
OK that's interesting. Today I learned something! 👍️
On the NI product page:
Standalone MPC 3.4 or above
This release is for MPC Key 37, MPC One+, MPC X Special Edition, MPC Key 61, MPC One, MPC Live II, MPC X and MPC Live hardware.
It makes no mention of there being a desktop version included.
On the Akai support page too:
No - MPC Edition Play Series Plugins are currently only available for Standalone.
Just be aware though, that this is a cut down version, not the full version as you see HERE
UPDATE I think only Duets and Luxa have desktop versions
The MPC plugins are just for the standalones. They don't include the desktop plugins like Akai.
@PK The DJ are you 100 percent sure because I have seen the Native Instruments MPC expansions used in the old software after been told it couldn't
First you said plugins (play series), now you're asking about expansions. The expansions are just sample packs, so they will load on desktop.
@PK The DJ before we down a bad road can you answer me this do you use the MPC Software
Yes I've got the MPC 3 beta on my computer, and have an MPC X SE.
I've been using Akai samplers since the S900 in 1986.
@PK The DJ
Here take a look at this video

I don't understand why I continuously have to pull teeth to get my serial numbers after I purchase these MPC Editions. It says it will be emailed to me, but it never is. It's never under my product list. I have to file for support each time, and that could take days for a response.. This is so frustrating. Why say instant download when it takes days
@Jeremy_NI this was question I was talking about. I did get my answer
