I want to use machine as a simple audio interface for an external bass while recoding in Logic pro. Is that possible ?
It should work ok, although you'd need to check which input works the best as neither are dedicated HiZ instrument inputs. If you have an external FX pedal with line level outs or a DI box that'd be ideal.
